Don’t be so sure. We did allegedly offer Many 3 for 100 or something like that. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us offer Redon something similar. Him taking it would be the surprise.

Maybe there´s a guy that I´m missing in the FA/trade market but if you wanna keep it simple, Shaw is the guy. Matt Chapman would surprise me but it feels like an A´s move to deal him. Kyle Seager is another low key good player with a bad contract that will make sense if we can unload some cash or have the M's to eat some but even if that´s the case he wouldn´t move the needle much, we still got to find an OF in this scenario. In the end, there aren´t many options
Yeah I agree with you on Shaw. I sure hope Riley will at some point force his way into the lineup but after his 2nd half struggles it would be foolish to go into camp with him as your 3B. If Shaw can get back to his 17'-18' self then somebody is going to get great value. Back to back seasons with 30+ homers (before the juiced ball as well) and can play 2B too. Worst case scenario he's an expensive bench bat.

Sign Shaw and then maybe AA could then entice Ozuna or Castellanos to sign a shorter deal but with a high AAV to play LF. Not likely but you never know. We would certainly have a deep bench in this case.

There isn't many good OF options who are likely to take a 1 year. Puig is probably the best one. Kole Calhoun slugged 33 homers last year but I doubt that happens again.

Also DOB had mentioned the Braves are looking for a defensive first middle INF. I'm not against bringing back Adeiny Hechavarría.

I just read about the Machado offer but this Christopher Meola doesn't seem like a reliable source. But with Rendon I don't see why he would accept a short term deal. He has the Nationals, Dodgers, Angels, Phillies, and Rangers interested. The Nats might be out but at least one of those teams is going to have him a massive deal. A beat reporter for the Rangers said they are reluctant go beyond 5 years but Rendon might be willing to do 5 years at a higher AAV.

He’s not the only source of the Braves Machado rumor last year..... as far as Rendon... if the Braves are looking at Donaldson for four or Rendon for five, it’s not a difficult choice to me.... that being said, I’m not saying Rendon should take it, just I believe the “checking in on him” could be legit. And not as your gif suggest.

Got this one from a twitter link I saw:

If Bryant losses his grievance, would you trade for him with Fried being the centerpiece? That’d mean keeping Pache, Waters, and Anderson.

I am a firm no to Castellanos. We have been a very good defensive team, and I think that is a bigger factor to our success than people give credit. Our pitchers had inconsistent runs and we didn't have a great run differential, so I think defense has been a big part of success.

Shaw is interesting, though I would rather go w Riley than Shaw. I think Bryant would be a missing piece to pushing us over the top. Inciarte or Waters would probably go in this deal, Inciarte would be ideal to go..especially if we can deal a Shane Greene and Inciarte in the package and get Bryant and Quintana in return. But to answer the question of Bryant for a deal centered around Fried, I would do it. Fried's loopy breaking ball is difficult to watch at times and I think he is a firm #3 pitcher, and if it means we get to keep Anderson....then absolutely. Would love it to be Newcomb, but he doesn't fit the model completely of the Cubs. They love young (check) lefties (check), high K (check) and low walks (uncheck)

Braves hired Ben Sestanovich from the Padres. He’ll be the assistant GM. He was the assistant head of player development. Read he is very regarded in the industry and was a big part of building their farm system.

2019/20 Off Season Braves Transaction Predictions

I’ve been thinking more about a possible Lindor trade. Dansby Swanson would have to be part of the deal. The last two years he’s taken steps forward in his development. 2018 he was tremendous in the field but took a step back in 2019. 2019 his bat took a step forward and he basically set career highs across the board. Injuries have continued to nag him. How are we feeling about him heading into 2020? If he can finally stay healthy and put it all together, how big of a break out season could he have? Anybody think he is capable of a 4+ WAR season? Basically how good would he have to be to convince you that trading for Lindor isn’t a good idea?

Morosi says Ozuna likely to sign a contract for at least 4 guaranteed years, possibly more.
