It’s time to move on from Carr

I think the Chiefs nailed this process. You have a good QB? Build around them.

If they can’t get the job done, you draft their replacement and keep winning while the replacement develops.

The consistent problem is our decades long frustration of drafting defensive players who seriously under perform. We can't seem to draft replacements hoping they develop. Heck we can't even draft average players!

Nnamdi, Mack and now Crosby are the only above average players we have drafted on the defense in the past 20 years. Mad Maxx played through injuries this year seriously impacting his statistics. I hope he comes back strong next season as he's our only pass rusher.

We'll see what this draft brings, but it's getting harder and harder to have hope...

And Maxx was misused. He should be a situational pass rush specialist. Out of necessity he was used as a 3 down DE, but he is a liability against the run and played too many snaps his pass rushing suffered as a result of overuse IMO.

For now Carr's contract alone doesn't prevent the Raiders from building a solid defense, or generally building around him. Yet. I don't see the Raiders going after Wilson or any other top flight QB for that reason alone.

Trust me when I say that I'm doing the world a favor by not drinking. I come from a long line of hyper-violent drunks. We jokingly call it "Black Label psychopathy."
