Itís time to move on from Carr

Is it wins? Thatís a heavily dependent team measurement

Is it passing stats? Marino comes to mind

    Is it just clutch stats?

Is this all an eyeball test?

Help me understand what Lamar Jackson, Mahommes, or guys like Carr have not done to be considered their teams go to guy and not a ďneed to replaceĒ

Mahommes seems to be the single most ďfranchiseĒ irreplaceable guy in the league right now

Guys like Brees and Brady are at the end of their careers and 100% arenít as valuable at this time.

Who is the better currently playing/ long term solution over Mahommes?
Well, they havenít won anything. Mark Sanchez took the Jets to two AFC Championships. So winning alone isnít necessarily a good barometer. Passing stats? I dunno-I donít think the typical metrics used to rate a QB statistically apply anymore.

Leadership, tenacity, coolness under fire, durability? The ďitĒ factor? Those are intangibles that are only forged on the field. A QB whom the opposing defense takes away what he and his team do best and he still finds a way to beat you.

Itís beyond me to reduce all of those qualities into one description other than to bring up a QB like Russell Wilson.

Is Carr there yet? Is Patrick Mahommes there yet? I donít believe so and I think all of those prerequisites need to be met before a QB is given a franchise payday.

Probably not as concise of an answer you were looking for but I donít have a short version.

    Derek ďEl FoldoĒ Carr.

He has the running game going, defense was keeping him in the game. First place in the AFC West on the line and he lays down.

This is my single biggest issue with him.

Iíll gladly come back to this thread and take this post down and plead emotional ignorance if he engineers a comeback but itís not likely.

Damn they can even hit FGís in the gusty winds. Iíll be surprised if we mount any kind of fight. This doesnít seem like the type of team that can mount a comeback.

No one tends to beat Andy Reid coming off of a bye.
    He is a great coach.

Yep-whatever Derek Carr was going to be he is right now. Time to close this thread I think the issue has been settled.

Andy is a great coach, but I think he had little to do with today's debacle. The Raiders did it to themselves.

Well as you can see there wasnít much to miss other than Derek Carr writing his own Raider obituary.

Todd Marinovich put up a better fight in Arrowhead.

I'll admit Carr played like crap but you have to admit Williams has been awful since his liz franc injury. Davis (the guy we were forced to get from Green Bay) runs scared or fair catches everything. Endzone tape would show it all but where are the receivers? NFL sends us to KC in December after their bye week. Andy Ried rarely loses after a bye week. I had our team at 8-8 at best. We all wanted more but that's who we are. We need a true number one reciever. I can't see keeping Williams with his salary unless he's playing hurt because he's not showing he can win one on one's! I'd pay 10 million for AJ unhealthy Green if he clears his physical next year and I'd be looking at drafting Lamb, Ruggs, Waddle or Juedy. 2 weeks in a row we should have just forfeited!
