    (68-61) Redsox @ Padres (59-67)

Game 1: Friday August 23rd at 10:10 PM

    Eduardo Rodriguez (14-5) (4.10 ERA)

Eduardo Rodriguez tossed 7 1/3 scoreless frames in a win over the Orioles on Saturday.
Rodriguez limited the Orioles to just four hits and worked into the eighth inning. It was his longest start of the year. He struck out four batters and only issued a pair of walks in this one. The 26-year-old lefty owns a 4.10 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 149/58 K/BB ratio across 153 2/3 innings (26 starts).
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Chris Paddack (7-6) (3.44 ERA)

Its possible Paddack is throwing too many strikes. His 70.1 percent strike rate leads MLB, but hes given up hard contact when ahead in the counts. Paddocks thinks hed better severed throwing his changeup and curve below the strike zone more frequently

Game 2: Saturday August 24th at 8:40 PM

    Nathan Eovaldi (1-0) (6.69 ERA)

Nathan Eovaldi surrendered five runs on three hits over two innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday's win over the Orioles.
Eovaldi had issues with his control -- he walked three -- and was unable to get the strikeout ball going -- he struck out just one. A three-run home run by Renata Nunez started the scoring action on Eovaldi's line in the first inning, with a two-run single by Trey Mancini in the second inning accounting for the rest of the damage. The hard-throwing right-hander was pulled having thrown just 43 pitches, a far cry from the 60 the team was angling for as they look to get him back into the rotation in earnest. In 36 1/3 innings this season, Eovaldi owns an unsightly 6.69 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 35/18 K/BB ratio.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Dinelson Lamet (2-2) (3.95 ERA)

Dinelson Lamet struck out six batters over six innings in a win over the Phillies on Saturday.
Lamet surrendered three runs on six hits over six solid frames. He coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning thanks to an RBI double by Scott Kingery and an RBI single by opposing starter Zach Eflin. He also served up a solo shot to J.T. Realmuto in the third inning. The 27-year-old righty owns a 3.95 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 55/17 K/BB ratio across 41 innings this season.

Game 3: Sunday August 25th at 4:10 PM

    David Price (7-5) (4.20 ERA)

    Joey Lucchesi (8-7) (4.25 ERA)

Joey Lucchesi yielded two runs on three hits over six innings in Sunday's win over the Phillies.
Lucchesi struck out four and walked two on the afternoon. Jean Segura nicked him for both runs on his line, hitting RBI doubles off the southpaw in the first and sixth innings. With this respectable outing under his belt, Lucchesi will carry a 4.20 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 129/44 K/BB ratio (133 innings)

Some game notes. I cannot believe how Devers has blossomed.

Devers has made from 2018 to AL MVP candidate in 2019 is incredible. He slashed only .240/.298/.433/.731 in 121 games last year as a 21-year-old. He has a 5.4 WAR this year. Hes second in WAR among Red Sox players behind only Xander Bogaerts (5.6), per Fangraphs.com. Hes ahead of 2018 AL MVP Mookie Betts (4.8).

Also with the not so great team record. Per ESPN.com Sox are

    Batting:

    Tied for 2nd in runs : 740

    2nd for OBP: .346

    Pitching: 1st .276 BA
    Slugging: 4th .481

    Just need to keep grinding!
