(67-59) Boston Red Sox Vs. Philadelphia Phillies (64-60)

    Redsox Vs. Phillies

Game 1: Tuesday August 20th at 7:10 PM

    Brian Johnson (1-1) –(6.45 ERA)

    Aaron Nola (11-3) – (3.56 ERA)

Aaron Nola held the Cubs to one run through seven innings and was credited with a win on Wednesday.
Facing one of the best lineups in the National League he rattled off six shutout frames before surrendering a solo home run to Kris Bryant in the seventh. Nola struck out seven batters, yielded three base hits and issued one walk in the gem outing. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI-single at the plate. Nola started the season very poorly but rounded into form as the weather heated up. He is now 11-3 with a 3.56 ERA and 1.26 WHIP through 26 starts. He has 173 strikeouts in 154 1/3 innings.

    Game 2: Wednesday August 21st at 7:10

    Rick Porcello (11-9) – (5.49 ERA

Rick Porcello spun six innings of one-run ball in a 9-1 victory over the Orioles on Friday.
Porcello gave up an RBI double to Trey Mancini in the third inning, but held the Orioles in check otherwise. He allowed just four hits on the night while striking out two and walking two. Amazingly, this was the first time since way back on June 23 that he didn’t give up a home run. That just about sums up how his season has gone. Even with the solid start, he’s sitting on a 5.49 ERA on the year.

    Drew Smyly (1-5) – (8.42 ERA

Drew Smyly was knocked around for five runs in five innings and took a no-decision against the Cubs on Thursday.
He yielded seven base hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out six in the sub-par effort. Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber both took him yard for solo homers. Smyly looked great in his first start with the Phillies but since then he's been torched in three straight starts. It seems unlikely the Phillies will continue running him out there. For the season he is 2-6 with a 7.09 ERA in 18 games (14 starts) between the Phillies and Rangers.
