He will not produce at near the level he has in the past. He ain't no Hopkins. This has always had disaster written all over it. Let Carr miss him a few times and have him actually feel what it's like to lose for the first time in his career. Gonna be a circus side show.

Unless it's losing in the playoffs, which Brown has experienced plenty.

So have plenty of other players. But he was in the playoffs 6 of 9 years with the Steelers and never experienced a losing record. And in 2 of the losses he was a non-factor (S loss rookie year, WC loss second year), and a 3rd he was injured for (divisional against Denver).

I think it is funny that fans out there have lucky underwear they refuse to wash because their team might lose, but an actual player with a change that may actually impact his play is supposed to be crazy for doing the same thing.

There have also been TO vs AB comparisons elsewhere on teh interwebs that yielded some interesting information.

"He showed up to Steelers camp in a helicopter one year and a fleet of Rolls Royces another. It only just now became an issue for whatever reason."

On the TO side... A few highlights from his career:

    • Accused his coach of intentionally throwing a game
    • Implied that his former QB, Jeff Garcia, was gay
    • Accused the 49ers of not supporting him enough with his TD celebrations
    • Demanded a trade from the 49ers after expressing frustration about their playoff performance
    • Chewed out multiple 49ers QBs on the sidelines
    • Refused to play for the Baltimore Ravens after being traded, eventually was moved to Philadelphia
    • Got suspended from Eagles training camp
    • Expressed a preference for Brett Favre over Donovan McNabb, accused McNabb of being jealous of him and getting tired in the Super Bowl
    • Accused the Eagles of showing "a lack of class" for not publicly recognizing his 100th TD catch
    • Did not apologize to McNabb, eventually leading to being suspended for nearly half a season
    • Released a tell-all book about his time with the Eagles, claims he was "misquoted" (in an autobiography) when he called his Super Bowl performance "heroic"
    • Exchanged blows with Todd Haley
    • Was taken to the hospital for a pill overdose
    • Spit in DeAngelo Hall's face
    • Fightfight with Cowboys team trainer (twice)

All of this interspersed with countless rants, weird press conferences, etc, plus I'm sure plenty we didn't see (especially with the Eagles suspension).

And he is correct, as his helmet wasn't on the banned list last year like all the other players.

Now that his helmet is banned, he wants the 1 year phase out like they got.

Probably won't work, but he is technically correct.

What makes him so special from the 31 other players that are making the same switch?

As long as you leave out for AB:
-Facebook live from the locker room
    -Throw furniture off the balcony
    - have guns and cash stolen leading to police being called
-Being sued for trashing a condo
-Being sure for furniture almost hitting a toddler
-4 hours late for a childrenís hospital visit
    -leaving camp with an injury
-No showing an in season meeting
    -Skipping a week of practice
    -Being benched for skipping practice
-Refuse to play for Buffalo if traded there
-Reportedly was yelling at teammates because he wasnít named team MVP
-Threaten physical harm to reporters (twice)
-Police report involving pushing around of one of his baby mamas
-Speeding at 100+ through a neighborhood (which I still say Iím impressed by because I know the neighborhood well)

So I mean sure if you leave all of that out...

Less bad weather games, having to pass more. Wouldn't be surprised if AB doesn't get far more targets as a Raider.

What is with these small school stud receivers,, it's weird.

I have no doubts it's killing Gruden having to kiss this guys butt, you know he is thinking, we goofed.

Their helmets had failed a test the year prior, AB's hadn't. His had just aged out.

No plethora of super talented receivers around him, no spectacular running game to set things up, no first ballot HOF QB throwing him the ball, and at this point Gruden is more of a name and any sort of known commodity as a coach (I personally don't think he's anything special). He has a lot of things working against him and seems to have really kinda gone crazy and that means not focusing on football like he has in the past. I just don't see any way he gets close to past production.
