Trent Williams won't play for Redskins again; doesn't trust Bruce Allen

Trent Williams had a misdiagnosed medical condition by the team doctors earlier in the off-season, and because of that, he's holding out for more money and it is now being reported that he doesn't trust the medical staff or Bruce Allen.

As a Redskins fan, I agree with both of those places needing change, but it's a shame that Williams will be the one moving on, and not Bruce Allen or some of the medical/S&C staff.

Washington offensive tackle Trent Williams' holdout doesn't seem like it will end anytime soon.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the relationship between Williams and Washington "is totally fractured," with the seven-time Pro Bowler going as far as indicating he doesn't trust the medical team in place or team president Bruce Allen.

Williams also "made it known" he doesn't plan on playing for the NFC East team again.

This comes after Washington announced it signed offensive tackle Corey Robinson and placed Williams on the reserve/did not report list Saturday. Robinson appeared in four games for the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com provided additional details on Williams' situation, noting "there is no end in sight" for what looks to be a "lengthy and very complicated" holdout.

Yikes. At what point do other NFL owners push to have Snyder outed to sell the team?

Jay Gruden believes the Redskins won't trade Williams- https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...rent-williams/

Bruce Allen won't cave on this, and if Williams doesn't care about the fines like it's been reported, this is going to be a long holdout.

They're called team doctors for a reason.

Trent also has some responsibility here. These guys are sports medicine specialists, as well as general practitioners who can treat a variety of small ailments and injuries. None of them are oncologists, and they told Trent to get a second opinion, which took him forever to do. That's on him, and him alone.

Does the Redskins medical staff and S&C staff need to be overhauled? After the amount of injuries the past few years, absolutely. But it's not happening before the season.

Now, can a couple guys be fired as a statement, with promise to look further into the problem? Absolutely. Should Snyder meet personally with Williams, arguably the best player drafted under his tenure, to try and fix the problem some other way? Absolutely. Both sides are dug in hard, so Williams will continue to not show, and the Redskins will let the fines mount. Nobody wins, and when Dwayne Haskins finally gets into games, he's going to get destroyed by the pass-rush.

Has there been talk of trading him at all?
If he were to be traded, what's a fair trade? After all, LTs don't grow on trees, they ARE trees...

Trent Williams is worth Khalil Mack trade type compensation.

I'm a huge fan of Williams, but no way. Mack got 2 1st and then some because he's young and arguably the best edge defender in the league. Williams is 31 and hasn't started a full season since 2013.

If we hadn't sunk 7M into Darryl Williams, I would've been very interested in Trent, but I wouldn't have wanted to give more than a 2nd.

Mack was on the 5th year option and the Bears got a 2nd round pick in return.

Any team trading for Williams would get him with 2 years remaining on his contract at $9M and $12M non-guaranteed.

Apparently Sua Cravens is suing the Redskins because they misdiagnosed his injury and then when he sat out for that injury, they froze his pay.

"Oakland reportedly will receive first-round selections in 2019 and 2020, a sixth-rounder next year and a third-rounder in 2020. Oakland also included its second-round selection in 2020."

Sorry, what I meant is the Bears got a 2nd round pick. They gave up two 1st round picks but also received a 2nd.

Trent Williams is not worth what the Raiders got for Khalil Mack.

A single 1st round pick perhaps - and I strongly doubt it would be a high one. Or maybe a 2nd + some other combination of picks.
Believe the hype. The Baker has come.
