The Bucks 20 player training camp roster...

With 14 roster spots already signed, the additional 6 players that will fight for the last open roster spot and the two 2-way roster spots will be selected in the following six weeks...

3 players have been signed already, two of them on 2-way contracts (but can be converted to a regular contract at any time if one of them stands out as to take the 15th regular contract roster spot) on (SG/SF/PF) Cam Reynolds and (PG) Frank Mason III and (forward) Luke Maye was signed only yesterday on an "Exhibit 10" contract...

Another one that is expected to join the training camp is Bonzie Colson who the Bucks waived the day before yesterday (because they couldn't have a 3rd 2-way contract)... Provided that this will be the case, there two more signings that are expected to follow in either an "Exhibit 10" or "regular non-guaranteed" contracts...

That is unless there is a trade happening before mid September, that may result in opening one (or more) open spots (not at all impossible given that Ilyasova's roster spot is all but secured) and perhaps create some more cup space...

Out of the 4 players mentioned above and provided there is no trade happening any time soon, my take as being the 15th regular contract roster spot would be Cam Reynolds...

After the Bucks have signed Dragan Bender on the 15th roster spot, there are only two roster spots open for the training camp, which can either be on an Exibit-10, or on a non guaranteed regular contract.

Didn't know where to post this and thought that making a new thread would be a waste of space...

    Bucks O/D rating last season:
(players that are no longer with team in bold)

    1. Giannis Antetokounmpo..................................... ...........121 - 99
    2. Pat Connaughton....................................... ..................122 - 107
    3. Malcom Brogdon.................................................. .....121 - 108
    4. Eric Bledsoe........................................... .....................116 - 105
    5. Tony Snell.................................................. ...............119 - 109
    6. Brook Lopez............................................. ...................113 - 103
    7. John Henson.................................................. ...........108 - 99
    8. Nikola Mirotic........................................... ...................113 - 105
    9. Thon Maker.................................................. .............112 - 104
    10. Christian Wood.................................................. ......115 - 108
    11. George Hill.............................................. ..................113 - 107
    12. Ersan İlyasova.......................................... .................112 - 106
    13. Khris Middleton......................................... .................109 - 106
    14. Sterling Brown............................................. ..............109 - 108
    15. Tim Frazier.................................................. ............109 - 109
    15. D.J. Wilson............................................ ....................106 - 106
    16. Donte Divicenzo......................................... ................102 - 107
    17. Bonzie Colson.................................................. ........100 - 103
    18. Matthew Dellavedova................................................99 - 110

    Newcomers this season:
(O/D with last team in NBA)

    1. Thanasis Antetokounmpo..................................... .........140 - 110
    2. Cam Reynolds.......................................... ...................118 - 116
    3. Kyle Korver............................................ .....................109 - 109
    4. Robin Lopez............................................. ...................113 - 115
    5. Wes Matthews.......................................... ...................106 - 111
    6. Dragan Bender............................................ ................102 - 115
    7. Frank Mason............................................. ..................100 - 113

    Some conclusions:

    1. The newcomers but Matthews and Mason, look very good given they are coming from tanking teams and their age. Coming from a tanking team affects O/D rating severely because the team usually...looses! Mason and (particularly) Matthews are not coming from taking teams and their O/D doesn't looks good... Reynolds looks superb... +2 O/D rating coming from a tanking team... Thanasis O/D is out of only 6mins of NBA time...

    2. Middleton's O/D is strikingly bad considering his contract extention's value and his "All Star" rating... he was only the ...13th Buck last season! His +3 O/D should be considered as very bad performance given that he was with the best record team in the league...

    3. The Bucks were correct to trade Dellavedova (by far the worst player) and Henson (because of his contract's value)... Maker and Wood could provide an alternative to Henson with (practically) no negative effect on the team's performance given that Lopez was starting... The Bucks were wrong to let go both Maker and Wood...

    4. Pat Connaughton's and Malcom Brogdon's contribution to the team stand out...

    5. The Bucks should have kept Snell and Brogdon and let Middleton go...

    6. The Bucks should have resigned Mirotic.

    7. DDV's -5 O/D is "normal" for rookie performance at a small sample...

    8. Coach Bud should have given lots of more playing time to Snell, Wood and Mirotic last season...

Bucks O/D rating DURING PLAYOFFS last season:

    1. Tim Frazier...................: 137-103
    2. George Hill...................: 138-105
    3. Ersan İlyasova..............: 121-101
    4. Pat Connaughton...........: 115-101
    5. Giannis Antetokounmpo..: 111-97
    6. Brook Lopez..................: 115-102
    7. Khris Middleton..............: 112-106
    8. Malcolm Brogdon...........: 109-105
    9. Sterling Brown...............: 106-102
    10. Eric Bledsoe.................: 101-105
    11. Nikola Mirotić...............: 102-104
    12. Tony Snell...................: 95-104
    13. D.J. Wilson..................: 84-105

    Conclusions:

    1. If the Bucks would have used Frazier instead of Bledsoe, they would have win the championship.

    2. George Hill stepped up to be the most valuable player after he fully adapted in his role within the Bucks roster.

    3. Coach Budenholzer did a huge mistake to keep Mirotic fully unprepared for his new role (which was completely different than what he was used to play with the NBA teams before) with the Bucks and then, just throw him in the playoff games and expect him to fully perform... The time Hill needed to fully adapt (although with an easier task than Mirotic) in the Bucks system, should have taught him that much... Bud should have started using Mirotic at SF (and play "3 towers on the floor") right after the Bucks got him in February.

This mistake of coach Bud is probably the most important factor that caused loosing the championship last season...

WARNING: The Bucks are about to do the same mistake this season too... All teams have at least two 3/4 combo forwards in their roster... The Bucks only have (unproved) Thanasis and (inexperienced) Reynolds on a 2-way contract...

    4. Sterling Brown's progress over his rookie season is impressive. His limit is the sky...

    5. Pat Connaughton's contribution is absolutely state of the art... The Bucks can safely consider to start him this season at 3 and move Middleton at 2 after they lost Brogdon...

    6. The Bucks should seriously consider to trade Bledsoe for another PG. The Bucks shouldn't have let Frazier go...

    7. Letting Snell on the bench to rust after Feb and till the playoffs was another mistake... Not only he rusted, but the Bucks devalued him too although they needed to trade him.

    8. Clearly Middleton can't be the Bucks No2 nor he worth his new contract.

By adding Rayjon Tucker on an exhibit-10 contract, the Bucks filled the 20th spot for the training camp.

The three exhibit-10 contracts that will be added to the 15 regular and two 2-way are: Luke Maye, Jaylen Adams and Rayjon Tucker.
