Wow the sound of that Garcia homer! We've found a diamond in the rough.

Robel is making a great early impression but it's very early. Don't mean to be a broken record but guys who strike out at the rate he does seldom make it. By seldom I basically mean Joey Gallo and that's it.

I heard the same thing about Javy... I think the quote was something along the lines of "Lucky to be Russell's backup in a few years"

You never know, sometimes you just have to give the kids a chance and they might surprise you.

I don't know the rules about this sort of thing, but reddit dot com slash r slash mlbstreams. Find the link to the bilas website, on desktop it's best. Mobile is tricky.

Javy was like, 20. Robel is 26. Even so, Javy is an exception to the rule if anything. We've seen guys like Mike Olt, Junior Lake, Ian Happ with big strikeout rates come and go all too often.

Not saying not be intrigued or excited cause I am those things, but I'm just a bit of a skeptic if that's alright.

Exactly, it's very early. Anointing someone trash when the power looks to be legit, especially for a 2nd basemen is premature.

Well yes we don't know if he can get back into playing shape in time or how he'll bat. He was dealing with the personal problems earlier in the season that probably had an affect on his hitting. If we could even nab a veteran bat like Zobrist for the stretch without giving up too much that would be nice. Someone who can situational hit with RISP etc.

I'd agree it's early for either extreme. I think he deserves a chance, but that K-rate is a major wart he has to overcome.
