Not exactly what id want to spend 25 million a year on. I think they are also being over cautious with Russell.... and they have hinted that they might sit klay for 2 yrs!!!! hard to believe they are doing the best they can do...... when their top paid players are all sitting out with BS injuries
The best they can do for the future of the franchise.

seems more like theyve regressed to the cohan days when the theme around every season was.... its going to pay off next season when we get a draft pick and everyone comes back healthy.... then the second they have an injury the next season- their default course of action is to sit everyone for all kinds of bs and throw that season away too....LOl we have all already seen how this plays out

Yes, I know you think that anything other than winning every game is tanking and Cohan.

The future of the team is not just "next season", it's the next 5, the next 10, the next 20. We want a team that can see beyond the next game in the front office and ownership.

Draymond Green is not a Warrior without tanking, and without Bogut (getting him started a tank) Draymond isn't Draymond. The Warriors literally won 3 titles BECAUSE they tanked.

This idea that tanking never works is just completely wrong. The best player of this generation was drafted via tanking. The Spurs got Tim Duncan through tanking.

I'm not saying it always works, but it's also true that the more players you draft the more likely you'll get a player who can contribute big in the future of the team.

I tend to think that over the long term- having a front office and scouting that knows how to draft and knows how to develop talent is more important that getting a high pick in one single year (Especially when there is no glaring star in that year).... its very possible that the best player in the 2020 draft could be a guy we arent even talking about who gets picked 13th or something overall. the warriors banking everything on finding that guy in this draft.... is dicey. (esp given the performance of their recent 1st round picks)

The front office can't develop talent.

The Warriors are not "banking everything" on anything. They are trying to give themselves the best possible options for the future.

You do realize that the majority of the "star" talent in the NBA comes from the top half of the first round of the draft right? That picks after that are often considered "worthless" by passionate NBA fans? Yet you keep talking about a pick in the bottom 3 as if it's the same as a pick in the top 3.

Yup you called it. Signing Draymond is the exact reason why Steph Curry broke his hand and is missing 3 months of the season.

who said it did. The tanking started last year in the finals when the warriors didnt win a single home game and sat klay in game 3 for load management (during the finals).....

then even when curry played in preseason and in the regular season this year.... the warriors were not playing any better than they have been after he went out. Curry sitting out has nothing to do with the tanking..... it was clear the warriors were not showing an interest in being competitive even before the broken hand.

More to the point- what does Curry hurting his hand have to do with draymond showing he is worth his contract? If anything, it would be an opportunity for draymond to expand his game.... if he cared about getting better at areas he isnt as strong (IE scoring the ball, creating for himself, taking over in the 4th etc.) Draymond got his cotnract and he doesnt have any reason to develop his game..... so his shooting is still horrible, and infact he doesnt even look like a defensive player of the yr candidate. (I guess thats cuz he needs curry out there though.

thing is... 18 of the last 26 seasons have essentially been tanking.... "waiting till next yr" Scoots compares it to the spurs who tanked 1 year (to go after an absolute generational talent). Then they were basically a contender for most of the next 2 decades.

warriors tank this year? whos to say they wont do the same thing the year after next.... because they get a player as good as enes kanter or markel fultz with this yrs pick?

and the spurs werent maxed out on their cap when they were tanking? if you are spending that much money- you should either A spend it on guys who can stay healthy, or B) have enough talent in depth to survive a few injuries

Still wrong. The Warriors have tanked a few times in the last 30 years. Most of the time they just sucked.

call it whatever you want.... im referring to tanking as when the organization gives up on the season and starts thinking about "next year" with months to go.

However- when a team "Sucks".... it makes more sense to tank IMO. The warriors have 4 recent all stars on the roster.... along with guys like GR3 alec Burk and Omari spellman playing the best basketball of their careers.

Now its unfortunate that 2 of the all stars have been injured for a lot of games this season- but having 2 all stars, a good coaching staff, motivated role players, and a winning culture should be enough to be at least competitive during a down yr in the western conference. However- that requires that the 2 all stars play like all stars consistently.... and dont take 2 rest games a week, and milk every single little bump and bruise.

I do have to wonder why they hired Myers over you. You do make solid points. Iím just wondering if they have a plan that isnít obvious to outsiders? What do you think?

Do you think bob myers will be in the running for executive of the year this season? I mean since his plan is so brilliant. Jeesh- do you just refuse to look at what is actually happening? take a look at their record! You act like my concerns are for no reason......We are clearly going in the wrong direction as an organization.
