Not sure why that would be terrible.

I'm not going to lose sleep over Trey Mancini taking away PAs from Braun Gamel Thames or Aguilar.

He's never been worth 2 wins in any season. And last year had a 92 wRC+ and was worth -.2 fWAR.

He's having a fine hitting season, but if they get Mancini, it's not a monster set back or anything for the Cubs. He's just an alright kind of player.

My question is, are they in on him? I haven't seen anything to suggest that. I thought they wanted pitching. If we are going to comment on someone we hate for the Brewers to get lets start with Syndergaard and add MadBum. Those would be guys I would hate the Brewers to get.

Well, Dyson isn't a leadoff guy.

Yuck, OK, yuck. And even the OK, leans towards yuck a little.

Castellanos has hit 2nd much of this season. Can't be much different leading off than hitting second.

He would be fine leading off, IMO. Better than Dyson or Inciarte.

Worse than Schwarber doing it vs RHP. But he'd be very good doing it against lefties. Also, Schwarber and Castellanos are hilariously only 5 points apart in wOBA.

They'd be an unbelievably good platoon, though.

Phillies acquire P Jason Vargas from Mets for minor leaguer.

I still think theyre moving one of Syndergaard/Wheeler

Inciarte would be a decent pickup, really good defensively in CF too (gold glover) and has speed, but he's having a bad year at the plate.

He would be an investment for future seasons too, is under contract until 2021 with team option for 2022, is only 28 years old.

I guess if thats what we are limited to I could live with it. Hes been hurt most of the year I believe. Hes never been a great on base guy outside of 2 seasons of low .350s with the last being in 17. IMO hes not much of an upgrade over Almora at this point.

Id rather have Peralta over Inciarte. Peralta has shown better on base skills and has real pop in his bat although I dont know that the 30 homers last year is something he can do again.
