Updated Report: Kings sign C Dewayne Dedmon for 3 years, 40M

Interest between the Sacramento Kings and free agent center Dewayne Dedmon is mutual, and strong. Nothing set yet, but there is confidence on both sides. Expect a resolution tomorrow.

38% from 3. Would be a good stopgap for Giles.

    Kings signed Dedmon.

The Kings are also expected to come to quick terms with Dewayne Dedmon on a three-year, $40 million deal when free agency formally opens. That deal has a partial guarantee in the third year.

I am also good with this one. Doesnt move the needle much but it appears we are not in contention for major players in free agency....No word about WCS rumors, I saw a list of top 50 free agents and WCS was not even on the list.

Longer article, but worth your while as well.

With the Holmes signing we now have 2 excellent backup Centers problem is 1 of them is starting. I still like them just not sure how its going to work out.

So does that mean Giles is starting?

I would bet Dedmon starts and plays 20-30 minutes a game likely closer to 20 than 30. I am guessing Giles and Holmes comes off the bench. I would say Giles has upside and might at some point in the season take over the starting role, but I would bet to start the season Dedmon is the starter.

Kings obviously couldnt attract the high end talent, so they went after quality depth which will help the Kings win games as the season wears on and players get hurt or tired.

I'm a fan of this move. Adding a stretch 5 to replace WCS just makes too much sense for this roster. He's also a better rim protector which helps another area of need.

Dedmon makes total sense for this roster and the style Luke wants to play.

I think he would be welcomed by any team. He is an upgrade forsure.
