Agreed. I am talking specifically from what I believe the perspective of the FO will be.
"We can get better without breaking the bank" type of mentality.

If we win the WS, it gets people off their backs and it gives Cashman and Bros the ability to say, that they feel that Sevy/Pax/Tank/German/Happ is an excellent rotation with a nice mix of youth and experience and that they have internal solutions in Garcia/Monty/Lasagna/King... if needed.

If they lose and Cole's price is off the charts, they can say they would rather save that money because they feel that Sevy/Pax/Tank/German/Happ is an excellent rotation with a nice mix of youth and experience and that they have internal solutions in Garcia/Monty/Lasagna/King... if needed.

It's not a matter of should or can. Should they get Cole? Yes. Should you improve every year? Absolutely.

But they could also trade Andujar and Frazier for a good starter and talk about how they didn't need to spend to increase the depth of the rotation and by this acquisition, they made the team better.

My point is targeted at the experts not me..

I still feel we donít need Stanton....He is just The cherry added to your sundae...

I also feel he is a square peg trying to rammed in a round hole, like Giambi was in 2002.

The only reason why I do t want Stanton in the future is I want this OF

Judge, Hicks, Frazier, Tauchman and Florial. I like youthful energetic players...Frazier is THAT!

He is a pro, he can be fixed with flyballs.

Frazier is energetic? He's the most lathsrgic mofo on the team. He looks so bored and miserable all the time.
Florial is crap. Should've traded him 2 years ago when his value was at its highest.
Talk man is great. I just wonder if he was a random 3 months of great who will crash back down to earth.
Hicks is really good but also really injury prone.
Judge. Elite and slightly injury prone. Absolute stud though.

    In summary, you're wrong.

Sounds like Happ is going to pitch out of the pen/relief for the first playoff series at least.

    Playoff rotation(in some order)

    Paxton
    Sevy
    Tanaka

I'd rather have Tanaka go game one at home.

    --------------------------------------------------

    Yankees upcoming pitching:

    Tuesday: opener
    Wednesday: opener

    Friday: Paxton
    Saturday: Severino
    Sunday: Tanaka

Additionally, Happ will pitch in relief on Wednesday at TB.

Yanks will have homefield for the division series. Will probably play Cleveland.

Astros will have to face the A's or Rays, both of whom have a better staff than Cleveland.

Minnesota doesn't scare me. Elite offense but subpar SP.
I'd say we're pretty even with them offensively, but I'd give our rotation and bullpen the edge over theirs.

Their overall pitching is BETTER than ours.....it should scare you.

We might be in a slugfest all series! Gotta win the home games!

I donít want to face Oakland, Cleveland or Tampa Bay....All of their pitching is better than Minnyís and I feel we can outslug Minny, probably a lot of 7-6 type games with mid to late inning 3 run homers....some reliever will Not be turning their head to watch a moonshot coming from his bad located fastball. Hopefully a Twinky instead of ours.
