well the only thing they can do is pick and trade every other year......that does happen but not ideal situation

How is their window only 2 years?

Even if Bron gets older, slower, etc, AD is still more than young enough and good enough to carry the team.

And even an older slower Bron will be plenty good, because of his high basketball Iq.

They will be capped out and LeBron will be 37 in two years. He is also currently entering his 17th season, has a ton of miles from playing in the Finals for eight straight seasons, and he just suffered his first major injury. Their roster currently consists of LeBron, Kuzma, and AD, so who exactly is he carrying? Once LeBron declines it's potentially a worse situation than what he was in, in New Orleans, depending on what other players they can bring in between now and then.

If they don't win a championship this year or next, it's safe to assume that the window for winning with LeBron will be closed and they will then have to start building around AD without their draft picks until 2026.

2 year window to win a championship is a far bigger window than most teams in the league have, so Lakers will take that all day.

And Bron may decline, and decline a lot, but he hasn't shown any signs of that yet.

It's a lot of easier to find players to add to 2 cornerstone pieces than it is to try to add 2 cornerstone pieces.

Bron owns a damn sports agency, and plays in L.A. he will have no problem getting guys to come there.

Tell that to Woj who said that the Lakers needed AD because they aren't front runners for any of the other top free agents.

We'll see... It looks like Kemba and Kyrie are now their top targets. Kyrie doesn't seem to want to go to LA though.

As far as LeBron declining, he has absolutely shown signs defensively. You also don't need to see the signs beforehand. Often times it happens suddenly. LeBron is a freak though which is why I think it's safe to assume that he'll be playing at a high level at age 37 and 19 years in. I don't know if I can bet on 38 and 20 years in...he's also a free agent then as well and will likely leave to play with his son until he retires.

LeBron is more mentally done than physically. LA has focused him on his new career. And 35 is old in the NBA for any player.

how can anyone say AD can carry a team by himself?

Is there proof already that this is completely a no? Oh yea each year in NO for that matter and he's had some nice teammates as well.
It didn't work with Cousins, Holiday, Mirotic, Randle, but he can carry a team all by himself? Can't wait till Lebron plays two more years, and AD has an opt out, Lakers gave away years and years of their ability to build or trade and once AD opts out then what...............holy cow great trade............lets see if anyone else joins because that is what it will take.

If the Knicks gave away the ship it would be a terrible trade, so interesting all the different takes....

So the great Nets with so many assets got involved for AD and didn't move the dial?

Contrary to other reports, the Celtics were open to discussing Jayson Tatum and the future first-rounder owed by the Grizzlies in a trade package for Davis but didnít want to part with both of those assets, Charania continues. Bostonís unwillingness to give up multiple major assets tipped the scale in the Lakersí favor. The Nets also made a bid, Charania adds, but the Pelicans werenít enamored with their available assets

What top free agents do they need they have Bron and AD, they just need roleplayers now.

And heck no Bron hasn't shown signs of declining defensively, he just didn't try hard last year because that roster was going no where.

Bron was waiting for AD to turn it up again, and now he's got him.
