Game Day just showed that Hick's last pitch was a 104 mph sinker(!); is that really possible? If so, can his fastball be, oh, I don't know, 110mph?

This largely same team had no problems with RISP in 2016. In fact they always seemed to come through. The last 2 and a bit seasons they seem to be allergic to scoring runs with RISP.

They'd actually been much better this season until very recently. Hopefully just a random bit of bad luck.

Well yeah, hopefully just a bad stretch that will turn around soon as bad stretches do.

With Hicks now at 35 pitches thrown tonight, I would think we won't be facing him tomorrow, maybe not even Sunday. (And how is his ERA over 3.5?) Hicks throwing in the 100s while Monty is throwing in the 70s.

How was that not strike 3?

That was clearly in the zone.

Damn. Maples gets some of the blame here for sure, he's a wild thrower. But damn, that awful missed call completely changes the inning for a guy like him. Just ****ing sucks.

Horrible call. Nothing we can do about it. Just have to find a way to get out of this.
