    sssssstttttrrrrrreeeeettttttcccccchhhh.

    Nice liberal interpretation.

Why not have liberals fund the payment???

How 'bout a GoFundMe page for voter ID costs?

Although it would not make a difference. As soon as everyone got ID cards (free or not) liberals would find another reason for voter suppression. It will never end.
yes any amount to pay to vote is a poll tax. If you have to pay money to vote it's a poll tax. Why should only liberals pay for something that conservatives want?

How bout we create a law that turns over drawing districts to a machine learning algorythim, requires a national ID to vote, and that National ID is free to get (with places open 24 hours to get it and house calls for people who need it. ). Boom everything done.

$8.00 probably barely covers the cost of producing the ID card.

You're really making a stupid point.
Voting is a right, it costs nothing, you cannot charge for it, thats called a poll tax. Are you anti freedom? Anti fundamental American rights?

    Mindblowing analogy.

Feels pretty necessary in my day to day life and I can't say I know a single adult that goes about theirs without one.

In Sociology it's important to note that your experience, while varied, may not be indicative of reality in larger sample sizes. We know there are many, many (particularly the elderly) who do not have them. Are they just SOL?

Just because you don't know anyone, doesn't mean it isn't common. 11% of Americans don't have IDs

I saw it somewhere listed for $8.00.

I would not lie about it.

I actually believe you. I think you were more likely to just have been wrong than to lie about something like that. Heck, I bet there is probably some program for people to get it for $8 out there.

The real issue here is not what, but why.

The left and the right are both invested in this fight because it equals votes for both sides. That's my point.

We've been voting 2 and a half centuries without Id and it hasn't been any big issue. Whereas drivers license were implemented much faster. So what is happening now that requires we change to requiring ID?

Because you did not need one until all of a sudden those in power (I’m sure you can figure out who they are) come out of nowhere to claim — for some newly-minted and rather amorphous reason —that, guess what, now you need one.

Remember the act and intention behind the act post that you were apparently unable to comprehend? Well, I guess I have to spell it out for you: why impose this now? What is the intent behind the act?

I think I know, but I’ll leave it to you to construe the answers in your own inimitable way.
