Speculation suggests Holland will be taking the Oilers GM job soon

    Darren Dreger:
My understanding is, Holland is informing the Ilitch family and the Red Wings today. And as has been speculated all week, the Oilers offer is believed to 5 years at $5 million per

The paperwork still has to get done. Provided all of that is managed today, expect the Oilers to introduce Holland as the new GM in the next few days. Holland will have autonomy and Nicholson could take on a bigger role as well.
    Ryan Rishaug:
Holland expected to get back to Nicholson today with his answer, and indications are he will be willing to accept the job.

This is weird to me. Wings fans wanted to run him out of town, but he's so coveted league wide that he's getting $5M a year and full autonomy?

Oh well, can't blame the Oilers for trying

Anything for Edmonton has to be better than Chiarelli right?

Ken can't add too many bad contracts because Edmonton doesn't have a lot space from what I saw so there is that as well.

wouldn't it be amazing it Ken felt so good about his bad Wings signings that he moved young Edmonton studs for Abby or Helm?

Also, Vanek to Edmonton, book it!

I'm about a month late on this but apparently Holland is trying to recruit Datsyuk to the Oilers. He left his Euro team and his agent says he'd only return to the Wings. Interesting

July 1st will tell us alot. I do not think Pavs is coming back but if he does I would not mind it, if his minutes are limited. The cynic in me says this screams marketing gimmick to sell tickets however.

If Holland wanted to make amends for his post cap moves in Detroit, he would take on Abby, Glendening, Helm, Ericsson, and Daley. Oh, wait, they have "no trade" clauses.

Maybe they'll waive their clauses because they like him so much
