Most scouts I follow say while Young is playing well, they wouldn't put him over either Bosa or Garrett prospect wise. College numbers are not end alls, go look up the record holders in every stat. You will be hard pressed to find any of them who had even good NFL careers. If you want one guy to show how meaningless stats are go look at Dan Marino stats at Pitt.

But there may be some truth that chase lacks the ability to bend and is mostly gonna be straight line.

As for generstional, Chase is better than both bosa and clowney as far as college production and pure domination.

Chase was outproducing bosas best numbers by mid season.
I consider Young small as well. he isn't listed as such but he looks and plays as such. Bruce was good in college. played stronger as well

I can understand liking him more than Clowney but I prefer Clowney as I consider him more versatile and better against the run. Idk how anyone can put him in Bosa and Garrett league. those were the best 2 pass rushers I ever seen come out. Bosa couldn't stay healthy in college but I was seeing him triple teamed regularly

I love Young, but every year we have some generational talent at DE.
Yeah, but none of them were as dominating as young. Chase plays for the same team same coach and same role as bosa did.

But he is completely blowing bosas #s out of the water.

And quite frankly, bosa is great, garrett is great, and so is clowney.

So if we can get something on that level or better, sign me up.

If were not drafting a qb 1st, i dont see how we pass on evans, dominating pass rusher with the 1st pick is a good way to start the draft.

Bruce is under 240 lbs, chase is nothing close to that, i dont see the comparison one bit.

Bruce wasnt 1/4 as good as chase in college.

I completely agree that college numbers arent the end all, i mostly dont care about college stats. The only reason i compared their stats is they played on the same team, same coach, except chase was blowing out bosas #s by mid season.

And i dont think chase has close to the technique bosa has. But from a pure physically dominating standpoint, chase wins that all day.

From a pure statisical dominating standpoint chase wins that all day too. I dont know how you ignore that and draft any other player that isnt a qb.

I mean, if were not drafting a qb, and chase is available, i dont see how you can put anyone above him.

Young has double the amount of sacks as bosa did during his best season.

And young has 7 forced fumbles THIS YEAR!

Thats insane. 7 forced fumbles is unheard of. Bosas best year he had 1.

Lmao at trying to make bosa sound better or trying to tell yourself Young isnt a phenom.

You would be nuts to draft any non qb over young.

Young is straight up dominant and is already NFL ready as a starting DE. For anyone to state otherwise does not actually watch a position.

Its true, you cannot go off just stats, but the whole body of work. Young is the BEST prospect in the entire class, hands down. Its not close.

As a WVU fan I watched Bruce Irvin play his Jr and Sr season in Morgantown and eh was a treat to see play. As a Junior he was a pass rushing specialist who ranked #2 int he country in sacks. As a Sr he became a bit more well rounded and his sacks dipped from about 14 to 8 but his tackles increased from low 20s to 40. He was a productive player in college but I believe what hurt him was Pete Carroll taking him 15th overall. No way he was a 1st round prospect.

Chase Young as a soph last yr put up fantastic stats.
34 Tackles 14.5 For Loss 10.5 Sacks 5 Passes Deflected
    This Season
38 Tackles 19 For Loss 16.5 For Loss 7 Forced Fumbles

Young appears to be legit to me

    Young 6'5" 265 lbs
    Bosa 6'4" 267 lbs
    Jason Taylor was 6'6" 245

If Chase Young is on the board when we pick and we pass I won't be thrilled. But I don;t think we have to worry about it since he will be a top 2 pick.

Saw a stat today that 40% of Herbert's passes were screens this season. The next closest was around 20% out of the notable names. Say what you want about Herbert, but the playcalling in Oregon has done him absolutely no favors at times. They're very conservative in most games.

If you want a good example of how bad Oregon is at playcalling, look at the second half tonight against Utah. Herbert has struggled in the third, but almost every sequence was a run run pass that put Herbert in an obvious passing situation.

While your looking at those stats, are you able to see how many were sideline outs or comebacks? I'm just a little curious. I only saw him play once this year.

Herbert doesnt even look like a 1st round pick anymore.

Hes just not good. Some team will probably bite, but im a strong No on him.

Looks like fromm is staying another year in college.

I dont think we would of drafted him, but it would of been nice to have him in the draft anyway as a player a team could trade us for.

Fromm was a 2nd rd pick at best this year. smart on him. That just pushes Tua closer to declaring. One less QB in the class.

Word up here in New England is that Brady is heavily leaning toward leaving the Pats. I've said numerous times that MIA is a potential landing spot, and so do some of the talking heads up here as well. Not saying that I want him, but its a possibility. That would be a very random change in dynamic in the AFCE. Let Rosen sit a couple more years behind him? not terrible.

I have zero doubt tua will declare, they just pretend they may not, to build interest.

Yea I dont see how Tua stays. Theres simply no reason too. He'll still be a top 10 pick easy.

Now unfortunately we might go 3-1 and fall out of the top 10 lol.

Unfortunately no specific details. I would just assume they mean any kind of quick pitch pass with blockers.
