    Chris Davis Breaks a Record

    Peter Schmuck
    @SchmuckStop
    That's 47 consecutive at-bats without a hit, surpassing Eugenio Velez for the all-time major league record for a non-pitcher. He also is three short of the plate appearance record, which is held by Tony Bernazard at 57. #orioles

    Congrats to him. What a fantastic contract.

    At this point is it that he's bad or does he not give one single ****?

    If you can't adapt to the era of shifts and high fastballs then you are toast. The league is burying this dude with high heat.

    Bad contract even at the time it was made. He had a .196/.300/.404 season in 2014 in between his 53 and 47 HR seasons. That should have been a good clue.

    Will this go down as the worst contract in MLB history?

    ****ing Bernazard.

    I remember him from his administrative days from the Mets. Yuck.

    If Trump can become president with no political background then I don't understand why I need a resumé

    Quite possibly.
    Pujols contract is terrible, but he's at least been somewhat useful.
    Ellsbury has a terrible contract as well, but at least insurance pays 80% of it when he's hurt. Plus, when he was healthy he was at least serviceable.
    Chris Davis has just been downright awful.

    Bobby Bonilla is getting paid until 2035. With all the deferred money in Davis’ deal he could definitely contend.

    This is interesting. I like to see how long this record goes.
