The reports are that Mazeika, Sean Foley, and Lee are being sent down. And Mason Williams will only be on the taxi-squad for the road trip, not the 25-Man roster.

Foley has options so I get that he will be sent instead of Barnes who I think does not.

Sucks because the better pitcher is sent down.

People talk about the Mets offense but how is that vaunted Yankee lineup doing so poorly?

Mets should be prying that whole analytics department away from the Rays. Rich Hill is doing that throwing 85mph with his fastball.

Mets have optioned Patrick Mazeika, Sean Reid Foley and Khalil Lee. In addition DFA for Cameron Maybin and Sam McWilliams. Alonso, Pillar and Lugo are all back and OF Mason Williams is selected to major league roster.

Good on DFAing Maybin. That was a dumb signing.

They have also officially DFA’d Maybin and minor league pitcher Sam McWilliams to make room on the 40-man roster.

And now Mason Williams is in the lineup, so he is on the 25-man roster. Pillar will initially come off the bench.

Eventually, if everyone does come back, I hope they go with a five man bench instead of a nine man bullpen.

Right now, Barnes is the 9th man in the bullpen. Eventually, I think keeping someone like Drury or McKinney as the fifth man on the bench will be more valuable than keeping Barnes.

Besides, the Mets can bring up an extra pitcher for the doubleheaders.

Looking ahead, the Mets have three doubleheaders and play ten games in seven days beginning Saturday, June 19th against Nationals (A), Braves (H), & Phillies (H).

7-inning games look ok to me right now.

According to FanGraphs, the Mets have a 84.4% chance to win the NL East and a 12.8% chance to win the World Series. #LGM

Mets are planning an August ceremony to retire Jerry Koosman’s No. 36. More info in the coming days. Ceremony was supposed to be last year, but got wiped out with the pandemic.

About time. One of the most underrated pitchers in MLB history. He was as good as Bob Feller and tied 43rd all time in fWAR.
