Absolutely. And you need to actually spend money intelligently on FAs, timed in such a way to put your young core of talent over the top to win.

And if you spend money on those strategic needs, you donít trade away key young talent that will keep your foundation strong.

We have a good young MLB core but not a lot after that as BVW gutted so much of our talent pool. So now the new GM will have to spend money to get us over the top while working hard to restock the farm.

Note that all the Central teams from both leagues have been already eliminated in the first round. What we have left is an East & West Series in the NLDS, and the same in the ALDS.

Rays just proved making the WS, and their certainly not the first team that you have to have a catcher who is a big-bop boom guy.

    Mike Zunino rocks......

Choosing who I oppose more between the Dodgers and Braves is tough, but I think the Dodgers are the lesser of two evils.

I wanted the Rays over the Astros and will root for them in the WS.

I hate the Dodgers but it shouldn't be much of a choice. The Braves are a division rival and a team that dominated us from the 1990s till the mid 2000s. I would rather watch any team in baseball win besides the Braves with maybe the exception of the Yankees. **** Atlanta, **** the chop, **** Freddie Freeman, etc.

Go Dodgers!! Then go Tampa if that's the WS matchup.

I'd love to see the Rays win their first WS, can't forgive the Dodgers for what they did to Tejada.

    I'll take the Rays.

Guess the Astros should have kept those garbage cans.
