So odd that the Player Union would reject it

Crazy. Don't get why players union wouldn't want this tbh. Yes more playoff games so more money for owners, but also more money for players who get bonuses and also chance at big payday if good playoff run

Because MLB wants the DH also so it is not a concession, plus an expanded playoffs means teams will spend less because of more playoff spots.

Doesn't mean its final, but not looking great as far as the DH in the NL this year, which obviously hurts this team tremendously.
The NL specifically and the MLB in general are a bunch of Aholes.

Having pitchers bat in a lineup in this day and age is beyond ridiculous. It's assinine. The whole lot of them should just be ashamed.

Having been on a bargaining team, I understand that the goal is to get an ask, but why not accept what you know you already want even if initiated by management? This is especially true given that this is all just an appetizer to the heavy lifting that will need to occur for the new CBA.

Not much considering last time we got a 35+ year old player and elite RP.

If they load up on 3rd( Bryant, Arrenado, Suarez) then they can live with Cain for 2 years and Hader locks up the bullpen

Tough call because Cain is servicable for 2 years and Hader would make a fierce bullpen corp.

Oh I think it will work better than the last time we made a trade like this. But that's also cause we shouldn't be giving up a top 20 MLB prospect here.

True but they wouldn't give up their top prospect in this deal, and they wouldn't be taking on the years or money of Cano

Cain also still played D at a high level (at an important defensive position) when he last played, while Cano was already in decline defensively.
