I give the Rays credit getting there but its that old adage about small market teams winning the WS. It just really doesn't happen. Of course the one year it does in the last 15 years or so, is the Royals beating us but the Mets weren't a big market team at the time either. The Rays just don't hit. Their pitching is great but aside from Arozerana they did nothing offensively.

Lol, that's sad. Well I guess its about time the Dodgers won. Since they started winning those division titles in 2013, they've probably spent over 2 billion dollars in payroll. Finally, it got them a WS ring.

Was the $19 million difference the reason the Royals won the WS that year? That year had we played the Blue Jays we would have won it and I have no idea if they spent more/less than we did.

Jays were a hit or miss, station-to station team and pitching was geared up for that scenario. The Royals were a contact-hitting team with excellent defense, speed and a deep BP.

It took LA eight years, under new ownership, I believe, but could be wrong, to win it all. My point is they have invested billions and that didn't guarantee a WS. Dodgers won because they spent their money wisely with a game plan, drafted and traded better, and signed the right free agents with their resources. We never had this r game plan right.

Hopefully, we have the right owner, who has the resources, hires the the most effective management team possible and move forward, hoping it takes no more than three years......

Its purely on Turner. He made the choice. Unfortunately, people tend to follow people in positions of power, status, etc.... Kids like to emulate their favorite ballplayer. Others like to emulate people in positions of power. Regardless of Trump telling him to run out there with a mask, which Trump never should say, it was all on Turner to skip the mask and run out there. Even if 30 world leaders call up Turner and tell him to run out there with a mask, in the end, its Turner's choice.
