Back to the subject matter of the thread, FanGraphs puts the Mets offs of making the playoffs at 51.8%.

baseball-reference.com has these likely scenarios right now. This is nauseating.

    Most Likely Playoff Scenario
NL Division Winners: LAD, CHC, ATL
NL Wild Cards: WSN, STL, COL, NYM, MIL

AL Division Winners: MIN, NYY, OAK
AL Wild Cards: CLE, HOU, TBR, CHW, TOR

Man the Mets have real problems with guys leaving them and becoming very good relievers some place else.

Let the record show that I wanted us to utilize Montero as a reliever.

If Trump can become president with no political background then I don't understand why I need a resumé

I also thought he’d do better in the pen too so his fastball could get an uptick in velocity. But he was just terrible here (even in relief in 2017) and he had so many injuries in his 4 MLB seasons with us.

Happy to see him doing well in his newer situation.

Yeah I’m happy for him too. I was kind of bummed when we got rid of him because I never thought he got a true shot.

I think a lot of the guys we lost in the past would’ve benefited from working with a guy like Hefner, but there’s no way to tell.

And who knows if Montero actually stays good. Pen arms are notoriously fickle.
