And Chris Paddack was great in his debut. Most be a Braves thing.

    Agreed....

He did comeback an strike out the last batter without damage being done. Hopefully that settles him down.

Maybe Wright will settle down. Itís his first career start and itís really cold. Arrieta struggling with command too.

San Diego's young starters have been mostly good out of the gate. Lauer is only 23 and seems to be building on last season.

Either the Padres drafted better or are better at grooming pitchers.

Wright is getting hit hard in the 3rd. In his defense, Albies should have held on to the ball and tagged Harper out.

It really sucks to follow up Acuna with Markakis. I hope Albies can pick it up and maybe hit 5th. Phillies have had no problem giving absolutely nothing to Acuna.

Kyle Wright has good stuff, but he just doesn't look like Paddack. Paddack shredded minor league hitters. Paddack also was throwing vs a minor league lineup in the Giants, while the Phils are legit. Wright has great stuff...a 2 or 3 starter. Wilson is just a 5th starter.

Outside of that....Arrieta is getting a solid 4 inches off the plate. Very hard to hit when that is the plate.

I agree that Markakis is not the hitter to have behind Acuna. You know who would be awesome?? JT Realmuto. Haha. But as much as I like Markakis, he is a 7 hitter best. Which means he shouldn't be a corner OF'er on a contender

Donaldson with a slow start, but looking at his splits, this is the time when he is more likely to slump. His highest K rate is in March/April at 21.2%. His walk rate is the lowest at this time, too (10%). His ISO is .232, so the beginning of the season is feast or famine. Expect a lot of swinging until July.

August is best month, so it may take a little time for dividends.

Freeman or Donaldson would be good hitters to have behind Acuna, if he would be hit at 2nd or leadoff where is better helps the team.

Max Fried for starter....94 mph and popping out of hand. Too bad every pitch takes 30+ secs...defense is asleep....no rhythm

Fried walked 20 in 33 IP last season and just walked Harper. He's not looking like a reliable starter. Once again, too many walks just like many other young pitchers in Atlanta.

Fried walked in a run. With every walk, I wonder why AA is hoarding these guys. Might as well sell high before teams figure out that Brave prospect pitchers have no control.
