Yep, the biggest thing is that we are on an absolute tear with Acuña struggling bad, Swanson will get going and obviously Acuña will get hot, closer to the playoffs the better. This team is destined to greatness.

1.91 ERA his last 5 starts. Going to be interesting to see who is chosen as a 4th starter for the playoffs. I would lean towards Folty because his stuff is much better than Teheran but Teheran has been more consistent. Both have been very good lately.

Who do you guys peg as our game 1 starter; Soroka or Keuchel? Knowing Snit, he’ll likely go with the veteran but IMO Soroka is our ace and gives us the best chance to win. Plus, I would like Keuchel pitching in between Soroka and Fried. If we were to lose game 1 then having an experienced arm game 2 would be nice to settle everybody down.

Soroka has been slipping a bit in his past few starts. Has allowed 2ER or more in his last 5 starts.

Homers have been his issue. 5 in the last two starts. Had only 8 all year prior to that.

Anybody else feel like Washington could miss the playoffs? I was looking at the rest of the schedules, and they might have the toughest road left.

I think we would need to go with Soroka. He is our ace. I think Snit realizes that too, or at least he should.

I agree about having Keuchel second too, nice to have him be able to settle people down if necessary.

Fried showed a lot of composture last night, had a rough first inning allowing 4 runs including 3 homers and still managed to pitch 5. That's remarkable.

We had them on the ropes in the third inning but Kingery made an spectacular play to rob Riley's would be double with the bases loaded and 1 out. Acuña was so close (he's had plenty of close catch this season) to rob a homer, he did bring it back but fell off his glove and wasn't quick enough to throw it back to the infield and Kingery scored on an inside the park homer.

In the end, even though we lost the Nats were beaten by the twins so no harm at all, magic number was reduce to 9.

2019 Atlanta Braves Regular Season Game Thread

Acuna with a homer and 2 steals tonight. 40/40 is looking very possible. Needs 1 homer and 4 more steals in the next 14 games.

Camargo has a fractured shin. He’s done for the year. Markakis activated. Touki, Wilson, and Wright recalled.
