Looks like the Bills will try to get another TE. Kroft just broke his foot. Mr. Glass couldnt even get through the first hour, of the first workout.

Rudolph is a free agent next season and Minnesota has been unable to get him to agree to an extension this year. Bean should have the Vikings GM on the phone right now, telling them what we will be offering him next season in free agency. Making them aware that they either should trade him now or pay him now. They will not want him to stay in the NFC, so sending him to Buffalo might be their best bet. Bean should try to get him before Bellichick and the Pats come calling. With the Vikes drafting a TE with their 2nd pick this year, pretty much indicates they were never going to break the bank to keep Rudolph anyways.

Kroft already looking like a bust, smh. I heard Croom went down too. Lots of injuries piling up already. Didn't realize morse and Beasley also went under the knife.

    Agreed on going after Rudolph.

Cinci was begging for Kroft to take over their #1 spot but just cant stay healthy. They gave him chance after chance. I was hoping a change in scenery would help, but obviously, this guy is made of glass. Even though he might be ready to come back in September, the team needs to look at other options.

As I said when they first got him, he is way to brittle to play between the 20's and most likely, he is here for an endzone threat. Now, I don't even think that will last without an injury. When healthy, Kroft is a TE you can game plan for. None of the other TE's on this team are good enough to require a game plan. So it will either be Rudolph via trade, or a TE in free agency next season to fill the void.

McDermott wouldn't pull the plug now and give him an injury settlement without playing a single game. Since he had the same injury last season and missed 11 games, he will get his chance to play, but as soon as he gets hurt again, he will receive his injury settlement and get released.

I am hoping, perhaps they are looking into a trade with the Vikings, because they haven't attempted to bring back the tackle, who converted to TE yet that they just released.

New rumor is, the Pats had made contact with the Vikings regarding Rudolph and the Browns are the only team talking with McCoy so far. Id hate to see either player that we need, going to one of our competitors, without even getting a call from the Bills.

Extending Hughes was a smart move. They now just need another pass rusher opposite him and a replacement for Alexander and the defense should finally be set for a couple years. They are getting to the point where the draft will serve as depth and an actual farm system...at least on that side of the ball.

The thing with kroft, lee smith, etc. I'd rather go after 1 guy that is on a higher tier instead of 2 middling options.

Rather have a Lexus than 2 Nissan Altima's.

There weren't any stud TEs avail in the first place this offseason, but this is a lesson learned to me.

You never know with TE though. The biggest factor for a TE is chemistry and trust with the QB. You don't have to be the fastest/biggest.

I agree in principle, but I don't mind them trying to find a gem when there aren't any studs available

Bills don't necessarily need that stud 1000 yard TE, even though that would be great. Allen just needs a TE dependable like how Jim Kelly had Pete Metzelars. With Metzelars, he didn't light up the stat sheet, but when the Bills had a 3rd and 6, he caught every pass thrown his way for the first down. Because of that, teams defenses flocked to Metzelars on those 2nd and 8, 3rd and 6 plays, which then helped Kelly switch it up and launch the 60-yard TD pass. Kroft if healthy, could have been that guy. Lee Smith hasn't shown being capable of catching the ball. We haven't really seen enough from Croom to know if he can be that guy, so lets hope the rookie is that guy.

Like I have said before, it's a numbers game. If everyone can be managed one on one, Allen and the running game will be struggling. But if two guys need to watch Brown, a couple paying attention to Foster's speed. Then a spy monitoring Allen running around back there incase he makes a break for it, that allows our TE a lot of opportunities out there. Which is what the coaching staff is hoping for, since we see them paying a lot of attention to that position this off season.

Same can be said on D. Last year, Star always had two men on him, but everyone else got single covered and we couldnt get through. Now we put Oliver out there, who may require 2. Just one more player added to the mix can be the difference between 30 sacks last season to 60 sacks this season. And the Domino effect we see is no more 3rd and 15 conversions, that we saw last year converted against us. More possessions getting handed back to our offense, Field position, etc. We just need one more player and unfortunately, the Bills don't seem to be interested in McCoy.

We will never know how he feels, but we know 13 teams called his Agent and the Buffalo Bills were not one of them.

From what they are saying on WGR, Bean is aware we need someone, but they are crossing their fingers that the player we need, will be someone from last year stepping up. I think that is highly doubtful.

Bean needs to look at the 2017 5-win Bears and the 2018 12-win Bears. Then look at the numbers that just one player in Mack, can improve on.

Before Mack, 40-sacks and 65 Pass deflections. Mack comes in and the team gets 50 sacks and 100 pass deflections. So Mack comes in, the numbers game plays in Chicago's favor, like I mentioned.

Mack's presence forced the QB to scramble, throw high pressure passes, which is all something our team hasn't been able to make an opposing QB do in years.

With all the commotion Mack created, the D then went from just 8-INT's, to 27-INTs. All because with the addition of the one player, teams didn't have enough bodies to cover the attack. Just think how many games Buffalo would have won last year, if their D would have caused 40 extra pass deflections, to either cause a loss of a down, or by helping their defense create an extra 20-INT's. Giving the offense a lot more possessions.

Hopefully, a team will make an unexpected cut during the preseason and Buffalo Pounces on the player. But as WGR said, they think they have enough on D, but they are really hoping someone steps up and I think that would surprise any one of us.

    McCoy is no Mack.
