Like i said, it's a numbers game. If offenses are forcing 2 people to hold back Star, another 2 on McCoy/Oliver, they then run out of people to cover the rush. McCoy is not Mack, but he still requires 2 players to hold him back, just like Star did every single game last season. Last season, besides Star, everyone was pretty much covered 1 on 1 easily, which is one of the reasons, other teams TE's always caught over 50 yards and a TD against us. As well as a lot of the receiving yards for RB against us. That extra stud we need changes the entire dynamic of the game. Those TE's and RB's are now blocking instead of going for the pass.

Good thing for Buffalo is, they have money and Cleveland and Baltimore have not even come close to what he is asking. And those teams were suppose to bid high in order to prevent him from going to their competitor. I am hoping Buffalo is waiting, so they are not bidding against themselves for his services. Now that he has walked away from a few teams, Buffalo now knows what the market is, rather than setting the market themselves.

Right, but that was the whole point of drafting Oliver. There's nothing wrong if they were to pursue him, although that does not seem to be the case, but it's clearly not a priority anymore.

Oliver is just the start, not the sole answer to all of our woes.

Look at this team last season. We had zero penetration. We watched game after game, when our defense allowed 3rd and 15 conversions on a regular basis. Not just once a game, multiple times per game. While our QB's have less than 3 seconds to throw, opposing QB's on average had well over 6 seconds. You put Oliver on that team last year and you think we see a difference? Like I said, Oliver is a start, but we need one more player to control the line of scrimmage, which has been something i've been preaching for several years now. On offense, I will say, Bean has fixed the line of scrimmage. Despite the injury concerns with a couple of the pick-ups, with the depth signed, Bean fixed the line.

Because we seem to now be in control of the line of scrimmage, listen to this guys prediction.

But remember, besides winning the line of scrimmage, this prediction was also based on Allen doing, what he should absolutely be doing as the #6 pick in the draft, which is throwing completions.
