Lightbulb Official Lakers Trade Ideas Thread: Volume III

Let's say as GM, the President(s) and Owner(s) do not overrule you on any of your decisions. You can do whatever you want, even if it affects those above you. What specific actions do you take over the course of the rest of this season as well as this offseason? If you would like to discuss next season and the following offseason go right ahead.

    Owner: Buss Family
    President: Jeanie Buss
President of Basketball Operations: Magic Johnson
    GM: R̶o̶b̶ ̶P̶e̶l̶i̶n̶k̶a̶ [You]
    Coach: Luke Walton

    Roster(16/17 filled):
    G Lonzo Ball(8,719,320 cap)
    G Isaac Bonga(1,416,852 cap)

    G/F Reggie Bullock(Bird rights)(4.75m cap hold)
G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Early Bird rights)(15.6m cap hold)
    G Alex Caruso(Two-way player)
    G Josh Hart(1,934,160 cap)
    G Rajon Rondo(Non-bird)(10.8m cap hold)
    G Lance Stephenson(Non-bird)(5,338,800 cap hold)
    F Brandon Ingram(7,265,485 cap)
    F Lebron James(37,436,858 cap)
    F Kyle Kuzma(1,974,600 cap)

    F Johnathan Williams(Two-way player)
    F/C Mike Muscala(Bird rights)(9.5m cap hold)
    C JaVale McGee(Non-bird)(1,618,486 cap hold)
    C Tyson Chandler(Non-bird)(1,618,486 cap hold)
    C Moritz Wagner(2,063,520 cap)
    [Empty spot]

GREEN: Contract extends to next year(NEXT season's cap #)
RED: Contract ends after this season(NEXT season's cap hold until they are re-signed or renounced)

Trade exception worth $1,544,951 from the Zubac deal. Expires 2/7/2020.

The NBA set the salary cap at $101.869 million for the 2018-19 season. The cap is expected to rise to $109 million for the 2019-20 season.

If you combine the cap #'s of all 7 green players you have 60,810,795. Luol Deng will add 5m to that, 65,810,795. That would leave 43,189,205 if you renounce all 7 red players. Cap holds would still need to exist for empty roster spots. If the number of players under contract + the number of cap holds the team currently has is under 13, then for each spot they need to add a rookie minimum salary to the cap sheet as an "incomplete roster charge". For the 2019-2020 season that number is 897,158. Due to the simultaneous substitution rule for signing a player you only need to count to 12 roster spots, as the 13th player is the player you are signing.

Your 1st round pick, a lottery pick, will have a higher cap hold.
If the Lakers, who are currently tied for the 10th pick were to slide down to the 6th pick, that rookie's cap # would be around 5m. For reference, Mo Bamba went 6th last draft and has a 4,865,040 cap figure. With the salary cap rising, next year's 6th pick will make a bit more.
If the Lakers stay where they are and land the 10th pick, he will likely make somewhere between 3.5-4m. For reference Mikal Bridges went 10th last draft and has a cap figure of 3,552,960 this year.

Lakers own their 2019 1st rounder. Sacramento or Atlanta own the Lakers 2019 2nd rounder. Detroit owns the Laker's 2021 2nd rounder.

This is how I feel. Wouldn't think twice about letting the rest go. Reggie probably stays.

The only thing that needs to be done is that either Jeanie Buss should sell the team or enroll herself and her siblings into a mental institution. She is an emotional, self-entitled daddy’s little girl mental train wreck ready to blow up.

Trade Lebron to whichever team he wants that has the capspace for him for a swap of second round picks in 2022. Sign Leonard and any second star that will come if they can . Use Lebron's trade exception the lottery pick and whatever assets to go get Anthony Davis if possible.

Duh see my ex's for example. Women can't understand them half of the time.

Trade Lebron.. Then you have a legit shot at Kawhi and KD..

I almost jizzed my pants when I saw this thread lol...

But I don't got the time to elaborate so here it goes in a nutshell - 1)Trade LBJ to Portland for McCollum and Nurkic. 2) Sign Kawhi

    Drafting BPA goes without saying

    Ball, Bonga
    McCollum, Hart
    Kawhi, Ingram
    Kuzma, lottery pick?
    Nurkic, Wagner

Sign someone with the room exception (either Green or Scott) then fill in the roster with vet min players.

No need to rush things after this - Kawhi 28, McCollum 28, Nurkic 25, Kuzma 24, Ball 22. All locked up to multiple years.
