Bit of a surprise to me, but considering his age (44) and recent injuries it seems like a smart move by the front office. The move also will save the team just under $3Million towards the 2019 Cap.

$3 million is a lot to save when a new kicker may cost 1/3 of that. Also, Bryant is nearing the end of the line, so it's time to move on.
