I saw Wednesday's game and was impressed with the pitching on both sides. The Kernels lost the game 4-1. Luis Rijo started the game and took the loss, giving up 2 runs in 5 innings. He topped out at 94 of the stadium gun and has a curve that isn't quite ready for the upper levels. His change is a work in progress as well, but could be a good strike-out pitch. He was relieved by Jose Martinez who throws a similar arsenal at hitters.
Tyler Webb homered for the Kernel's run. I was impressed by Spencer Steer's play at 2B, Wander Javier's play at SS and Gabe Snyder at 1B. They can all do the job defensively.
