I don't mind the move. Yes, he is a solid player and honestly he played very well for us. I love our options now, go out and get a guard and draft your tackle. Too many good ones that will be there at 14 for us to not make this move. Could bite us in the *** or it could be a turning point for the OL.

I guess I am not overly surprised given our cap situation.

I now only feel like we have one positive oline man. Ezra and Bradbury will need to develop fast. We need to be aggressive in getting probably at least 2 olineman now as priority this offseason or it will yet again hold us back.

Reiff has been a solid player for us but the timing here is best with Cleveland waiting in the wings and a strong OT class in the draft. Plus a strong group of free agent guards. This might be our best opportunity to improve the OL.

Now let's give Harrison Smith an extension and then get to work in free agency.
    2020 Vikings Draft:
    1: Justin Jefferson WR LSU
    1: Jeff Gladney CB TCU
2: Ezra Cleveland OT Boise State
3: Cameron Dantzler CB Mississippi State
4: D.J. Wonnum DE South Carolina
    4: James Lynch DT Baylor
    4: Troy Dye LB Oregon
    5: Harrison Hand CB Temple
    5: K.J. Osborn WR Miami
6: Blake Brandel OT Oregon State
    6: Josh Metellus S Michigan
7: Kenny Willekes DE Michigan State
    7: Nate Stanley QB Iowa
7: Brian Cole S Mississippi State
    7: Kyle Hinton G Washburn

this forum software isn't the best with that....it will sometime retain people as guests for days that are actually people who later signed in.........or were bots that never got in

I once had more people showing up as guests on my forum than I had as active users...period, not just logged in.

edit: lol 28 guests were showing when I started my post, 32 guests were showing after I posted

I saw this coming in here and was like whoa! I don't know their cap situation but with all the guys out there you have to think they will be players for several and also the draft. Reiff would be a good fit for them as well.

Damn this sucks for some guys for sure but teams are potentially going to get some good players on cheap 1 year deals. With the cap expected to go back up next year, players may be willing to bet on themselves.

I'm not surprised there has been a crazy amount of cuts so far (I expect it to keep getting worse over the next few days) but what I do find crazy is that the majority of them see to be OL being cut. Maybe it's because this draft class is deep but whatever the reason it certainly is putting the Vikings in a good spot.

They may have no choice. There is honestly so much talent getting released that even if they settled for 20% of their previous years salary there isn't enough CAP dollars in the league to sign everyone lol.

According to Doogie, the Vikings have had discussions with Orlando Brown Jr. That's kind of an odd one. He's a good player but I wouldn't think his skill set would be idea in a zone scheme.

Also suggested Barr might be traded. He mentioned something is going on with Barr's camp and then suggested a trade while following up with "I donít say that randomly". That's another story to keep an eye on.

I would imagine there are going to be a TON of guys accepting 1 yr below market deals, counting on getting bigger 'normal market' deals next spring

Doogie said today the Vikings like Joe Thuney. Also mentioned he shares the same agent as Cousins and the Vikings have a good relationship with the agent.
