I'm not sure this extension for Rudolph was good football-wise but he's worth every penny when you factor in the type of human being he is and all of the tremendous charity work he and his wife do in our community. I'm happy for Kyle and his family!

Pretty surprised to be honest but I'm all for it. Sounds like only $16.5 million of it is guaranteed so without seeing the details I'd guess we could get out after 2 years if he is not living up to it. The one thing we know is he is reliable and it should be very exciting to see him and Irv playing together. No idea how cap guy Rob does it but I don't care either lol. I know we'll need to move on from some guys next year, probably Griff and probably Reiff but overall can't complain with the players we've been able to keep.

Read somewhere Kyle talking about the mismatches the 2 TE sets in the new offense are going to create, so it sounds like he's actually excited about having Irv Smith to mentor.

However 4.2mil isn't enough to create a Trent Williams, Pat Elflein, Garrett Bradbury, Brian O'Neil, Riley Reiff OL, but maybe to get Weatherly and Alexander extended
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

I think I read that 1.5 will go to signing practice squad and I see the rest going to signing a veteran wr.

Practice squad guys won't count towards the cap. Their salaries won't be high enough to count against the top 51.

Financially, a trade for Trent Williams could probably work. Reiff would have to be included in a trade for Williams. Reiff currently has cap hits of 11.7, 13.2, and 13.95. The Vikings could offer Williams a 4 year extension and structure it similar to Anthony Barr. Large signing bonus in year 1 and a small base salary. That would actually clear more cap space in 2019. You could make Williams the highest paid OT in the league and the cap hit we owe to our LT wouldn't go up that much. A trade is extremely unlikely to happen, though.

That’s what I thought, but I swear I read something somewhere about money that will be used for that.

What are you guys thoughts on Trent Williams? Looks like he is trying to get out of DC and the Skins are fielding trade offers for him. I know our cap situation right now is awful but I wonder if we could trade some assets for him that would help free up the cap space. He would vastly improve our Oline and he has worked with Kirk before.

I would love to do it. Riley Reiff would have to traded to Washington to make it happen. Williams has a cap hit of 14.7 while Reiff is 11.7. Our cap space (top 51) is just over 5 million. I think we could pull it off. Surely we would have to give up a draft pick or two but the addition of Williams would take this line from being maybe average to pretty good. Williams-Elflein-Bradbury-Kline-O'Neill. Sign me up.

Camp body? I was hoping for Mo Claiborne, but I saw that he is suspended the first four games.

I figured we would sign Scandrick. Even as just a camp body this guy isn’t very good. But then again I never doubt DB’s when it comes to Zim.

Apparently Kenny Stills might be cut by the Dolphins. If that happens I would be all over him as our #3.

I'm good with Beebe. But Stills has put up solid WR3 numbers the past few years and he's still young.
