I'm mixed on it but don't really care either way. Our ST's have been solid outside of kicker. PFF had us as the #3 ranked ST's unit this year. It does make you wonder if he was missing something with Carlson.

Regardless, we did offer him a contract but he chose to leave.

Just a side note from Kevin's presser today...there seems to be this sense of Zimmer perhaps getting under the skin of some of these coaches. IDK, I'll let it play out lol.

I'm mixed on it as well. Like you said, our ST's are always good under him but our kickers have always been so inconsistent. I don't know if he is to blame for that but oh well he's gone now.

Well the glaring miss perhaps is that Carlson went on to have a stellar season it appears with the Raiders. They mad a small adjustment they said. I wonder if we would consider signing Carlson since he only signed a 1 year deal with the Raiders. I can't imagine that he would want to come back though either. I'd be down to resign Bailey as I thought by the end of the season he was in a groove.

Priefer is from Cleveland, so may have been thinking of looking for his chance there for awhile now...especially if he was one of those coaches whose skin Zimmer was getting under.

I'd say there's a couple kickers we could consider using a late round pick on, but after what happened with Carlson, Zimmer may stick his heals in not wanting to do that again.
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Vikings have contacted the Dolphins special teams coordinator and assistant head coach Darren Rizzi for their special teams job.

Read Kubiak might be interviewing for QB coach.

Courtney Cronin suggested Kubiak could bring in his son to be QB coach and Rick Dennison as the OL coach. His son Klint was on the Vikings staff in 13-14.
