I don't think that's super clear at all. I think anyone who thinks J. Williams is going to step in and play LT day 1 is gonna be missing Donavan Smith real bad. I'd put him at Guard day one though.

I also dont see how you HAVE to replace a 2nd round LT who started 64 games with a Top 5 pick. Can find starting OL on Day 2.

Signing D. Smith doesn't rule anything out, Dotson is due 4.8 mil this year is up and down, dealt with a lot of injuries. Could draft a player high and cut him to save 4.8, keep him as backup for either T spot or have Smith/Dotson start until rookie is ready.

Pfish overall point is valid, I just dont think you can think in absolutes. After trading for JPP, signing Allen, Unrein and Curry, that could've ruled out DT and it didn't.

Yea, that's true. I definitely didn't see Vea pick coming. I had never been so off on predicting a pick. He wasn't even on my radar last year. One trend that I seem to notice with Licht is that he tends to focus offseasons around entire units.

I really don't know what they plan on doing with the O-line.i can't find it now, but I read an article where BA discussed rookie O-lineman. He talked about how the college game has changed and O-lineman don't come out NFL ready anymore. Be basically said you can not rely on starting rookie O-lineman right away. I think you can at Guard and maybe even at RT, but I wouldn't do it at LT

Daniel Jeremiah mocked Josh Jacobs RB Alabama to us at #5. Awful pick. 3rd on depth chart behind Najee Harris and Damien Harris. Some injury history, nothing major but may be prone to getting banged up.

I dont know how you justify a RB like him at 5 for anybody, let alone a team with defensive needs and OL issues. He had Ed Oliver go to Atlanta and Greedy to Carolins in the teens, both much better players in my book.

I like Jacobs and view him as a late 1st/early 2nd round talent but hes not my #1 RB.

I was very upset when I read it.

Pewterreport did their mock draft and I thought it was pretty decent. 1st-Devin White LB LSU, 2nd-Michael Deiter OG Wisconsin, 3rd-Darrell Henderson RB Memphis were the 1st 3 rounds. Not sure I 100% agree with White but I do think he's a very good player so I wouldn't be upset. Lord knows guard is a huge need and Henderson is intriguing but I think he'll end up higher after a good combine/pro day.

Devin White st 5 is awful, Luke Kuechly, the best LB prospect in the last decade went #9. Theres a ton of cheap, capable FA LBers around the NFL..

I have seen Jacob's as high as #2 on a few HB rankings, so wouldn't shock me if he made it into the 1st. Top 5? No chance at all.

I don't even consider D. White in play for us. There are like 8 players I could make an argument for. He's not one of them.

The link below provides a great breakdown of the battle between Jonah Williams and C. Ferrell. For those of you who believe that Ferrell clearly got the best of Williams, this may make you feel differently.

For me, I think J. Williams is a great prospect. My biggest issue with him is that i'm not sure if he's a left tackle in the NFL. There is a good chance that his fit could be at Guard. He is listed as being 6'5/302. I think hes more accurately about 6'3/295 and does not really have the frame to support much more weight gain.

The good news for us, is that we need a LT, RT and a Guard, so there could be a fit for him on this team either way.

I currently have Jonah ranked in the second tier of prospects for us and a very realistic draft target. my 3 prospect groupings are this.....

    Tier 1:
    N. Bosa, DE
    J. Allen, Edge
    Q. Williams, D-Line

    Tier 2:
    R. Gary, D-Line
    G. Williams, CB
    E. Oliver, DT
    Jonah Williams, OT/OG

    Tier 3:
    D. Baker, CB
    J. Simmos, D-Line
    B. Murphy, CB

    I agree with your 3 groupings/tiers.

If he ends up being a guard I would rather wait until day 2 to get one. If there was any guard who I would take this early it would have been last year with Nelson.

I'm not taking Jonah at 5 to be a Guard. No way.

Ferrell did well early in the National Championship but as the game wore on Jonah stepped up huge.

Looks to me like if we stay at 5 we are getting a D Lineman which I think also coincides with GMC departing.

I've seen Greedy slide in a tonne of Mocks recently. I personally think he is a top 10 target but I dont think wee take him at 5 if our draft board goes to plan.

I still love the idea of trading to 7 so Jax can grab Haskins and we pick up a 2nd rounder.

If that's the case we could take Greedy at 7 and grab an O Lineman/d lineman/rb with 2 2nd round picks.

I'm good with everything you said here. personally if the top 3 players are gone, I'm hoping for Rashan Gary, although i'm sure Ed Oliver would be the more popular pick. To me, Gary looks like the prospect clone of Calais Campbell.

    Bucs release Vinny Curry.
    Saves 8M.

I am so for this move. Not very productive last year especially for the cap number and Nassib emerged ahead of him on the depth chart with his play.

Also could be because of a switch or addition of some 3-4 fronts.

Here is a list of name s that I think we should be looking at in FA.

    WR:
    Josh Brown
    Tyrell Williams

    DE:
    Henry Anderson
    Sheldon Richardson

    OLB:
    J. Clowney
    Zach Smith
    Preston Smith
    S. Barrett
    Dee ford

    ILB:
    CJ Mosley

    S:
This is the strongest position in FA. There are many studs available here. They can go whichever direction they want. T. Mathieu probably makes the most sense for obvious reasons. Also, he plays a hybrid safety position which keeps our other 2 Safety's on the field, which I think is better then having out Nickel back on the field.

    CB:
This is another position that has a lot of options, but not really a lot of top options. You would basically be looking for a #2 CB in this FA class and I like B. Breeland as a value signing who fits the Press man scheme that Bowles has typically run.

    OT:
    Daryl Williams (RT)

    OG:
    Roger Saffold, LAR

    RB:
    J. Ajayi

I'm ok with FA list. I will add to it when I get some time.

Looks like Donovan Smith is staying. Either a Franchise tag or a contract coming his way.

I wouldnt mind the franchise but its 14M which is a huge number.

I wonder if we could sign him to a shorter deal. Something like a 3 year 30M 20M Guaranteed.
