For sure. I am merely mentioning what needs to be done. Not saying they will be able to do it for sure.
So let me get this straight....we lose at home to the Hawks but we beat at Clippers by 23 pts, a Clippers team who has lost only one home game all season to Denver the very first game of the year
Sooner or later we're going to have to look at Whiteside as a "sunk cost"...it feels like the only reason he plays is to boost his trade value but that's not happening anyway so why play Whiteside at the expense of Bam's development?
Our main focus should be giving as much minutes to Winslow, JRich, Mcgruder, DJ, Bam to develop them and try to get a good pick in the process (Ja Morant, Deandre Hunter)....Bam should be starting with Olynyk as the backup and Whiteside third string center....DJ should be getting min over TJ and Ellington too
Spo going to (I think) 2-3 zone during that stretch run in the 4th qtr was forward thinking.....Not many coaches in the league would have the balls to do something like that in today's NBA but it worked for us tonight
Tip of the cap to Spo
I remember, one thing I wished before every season as a Wade fan was he developed a 3 point shot. Nights like tonight makes me wonder what he could have been if he actually had this shot in his arsenal in his prime years. How thid could affect his own legacy and our team in terms of championships and possibly having a longer window with the big three.

End of an era. Anyone else remember how Wade and LeBron used to go at it in the pre-big3 era? Though it's crazy to think they played 11 years in the same conf as opponents and never once faced off in the post-season.
Also, only 4 remaining active guys from the '03 class and one of them is stil the best on the planet. Gotta appreciate what a marvel James have been. He does bring a lot of unnecessary off-court baggages along, but his commitment to conditioning and continuously evolving has been second to none in league history. One can only imagine how difficult it is to stay focused and motivated over a decade being the undisputed best player on the planet. I am just glad he spent his absolute peak years at a Heat uniform.
Also, Winslow has been such disapointment since being drafted, I am not sure what to make of these past 3 games. Is he finally coming around or this is just a fluke streak? I sure as hell dont trust his shooting though.
Miami clearly decided they're not tanking.
Players and coaches rarely tank (unless it's at the end and they're positioning for a playoff matchup). It's Front Offices that tank by trading players that will win you games...maybe even leaning on the conservative side with Medical recommendations and giving more rest/time off/shutting down player.
Up until December 1st we had a 102.37 pace which was top 10, but since Dec 1st we have a pace of 96.36 which is fourth last.....We've adapted with no Dragic better then anyone imagined and are 8-3 in the month of Dec.
We're shortening the game, limiting possessions, playing a hybrid defense of man/2-3 zone, Whiteside is playing great defense and not throwing a hissy fit, Winslow has been our best two-way player during the month of December and TJ is playing some of the best basketball of his career lately
I'm honestly playing with the NBA trade machine to see what kind of Dragic trades we can make even though he's out for the next 2 months...Not a lot of teams need a PG either
New Orleans might get desperate for a PG by trade deadline, that's really the only team I can think of
Why are we trading Dragić and not TJ?
There's a solid chance Dragić opts out and may just be a 1yr deal. TJ is GUARANTEED for 2 years. Plus Dragić > TJ. Plus TJ makes more than Dragić.
Sell high on TJ get someone to take him while they think he's good during this hot stretch of play.
The teams that are under performing in the East, will start to pull away from the subpar teams. So by the beginning of February I expect Miami to have position themselves well. But unless Pat can bring someone in (most likely not happening), Miami will be a 1st rd exit.
But as Miami HEAT fans we can look forward to some good wins.
I just think the idea of trading TJ is dead this season and no one is trading for TJ's $20 million dollar contract, Dragic is the better player on the better contract like you said so teams actually might trade for a healthy Dragic....TJ has one of the worst contracts in the league, it's going to take more then a 3 week stretch for someone to trade for that deal
TJ should be on the trading block for sure but I just don't think anyone will offer us anything this year for him, maybe next year since he's expiring
Dragic is going to be a declining 33 year old (34 next season) coming off knee surgery, he has an $18 million dollar player option next summer, I don't know if he makes that back on the open market....I mean you never know with player options, he might want a change of scenery next year but as of now I'm leaning towards him re-signing
