Until democrats go prolife, the GOP automatically gets 40% of the vote. There are a lot of one issue voters on that one.

No, they don't have to go that far. It is a question of truly representing the country. They can start by achieving something that benefits everyone. Revamp the educational system with new schools in every neighborhood and full funding to the level of our counterparts in Europe. It may sound like pie in the sky, but big social projects and social policies enable FDR to "save democracy" or restore people's faith in democracy. That might sound over the top but look at the world from his point of view. He saw the status quo fall to Stalin in Russia, Hitler in Germany, and Benito Mussolini in Italy. Most of these changes happen during a global depression when people lost faith in their ruling class. I think that is why FDR became a "class traitor" he knew the greed of his class could lead the country into turmoil.

The Republicans and the Democrat leadership has worked very hard over the last forty-some years to overturn or neutralize FDR's socialist programs, ie seeking to privatize SSI, and Theodore Roosevelt's banking regulations at the bequest of their donors. These fools are removing policies without understanding the reasons they were enacted.

The report from Mitch’s team is that he’s sticking with the Trump because he’s “politically handcuffed”.

Too scared to lose the loonies in Trumps base. And the danger is that it legitimizes a challenge that is hopeless.

Hillary lost by a smaller margin and conceded by now. Obama had initiated the transition process.


They only have one legit case in PA and while it may clear up future elections (good) it doesn’t come close to recovering votes to win.



We all said he wouldn’t leave. We knew a bad winner couldnt be a good loser. And here we are.

He has political aspirations within the GOP for 2024. He knows he can't alienate the Trump base and have a chance at the nomination. So he's willing to pretend like Trump won't be leaving the office on January 20th in order to keep those hopes alive. Because getting the GOP primary vote isn't about acknowledging the reality. It's about coming up with new and different ways to say that Trump will still be president at noon on the 20th.

Yeah I haven't said it or honestly even felt like saying it until now, but this is a coup attempt. I still can't see how it works unless he's willing to take this further than I think he wants. I think nothing of Trump and maybe I'm still somehow naive, but unless he gets the military involved he's got nothing. And I can't see that escalation happening. I just can't. I think less of Republican politicians than most, but that has to be a bridge too far for almost all of them.

We're lucky the votes aren't actually all that close. Maybe this works if it's really tight. I think they were hoping for that and a way to steal it via the courts. If it doesn't work it just plays into some very transparent and familiar long term strategy. The next escalation in their never ending quest to secure minority rule. They've got the courts. They've sowed distrust. They'll only use this to further crack down on our rights to vote. It's as transparent as it gets.

But yeah. This is a coup attempt. However serious they are about it. However far they take it. It's a coup.

And I hope every Lib sees it, fears it, and then stops supporting the horrible foreign policy they support all the time.

Pompeo is absolutely awful but if he’s their guy in four years it’ll be a huge improvement from trumps nonsense.
