Bloomberg is a sad narcissist who is too stupid to realize his presence in the race helps split the neolib vote in favor of Bernie.

Dixville Notch, NH went solidly for Bloomberg (he received 3 of the 5 total votes cast — all write-ins!)

If Trump can become president with no political background then I don't understand why I need a resumé

Let him stay in to knock out the rest of the moderates, who will definitely leave their marks on him before they bow out. He will fail against Bernie, so the big question will be how he throws his weight around in the Democrat convention and beyond. I still see him as a possible third party candidate. If that happens, Trump just might win re-election. It could work in reverse if Bloomberg attracts a lot of republicans. He was a republican who fully supported Bush's invasion of Iraq to this day.

Is that the same place that had Bloomberg winning in both the republican and democrat votes?

Almost 200,000 posts from the three of us (Scoots bringing down the average!!). Wild.

The differences between Sanders' political beliefs and the campaign he's running verse Bloomberg's political beliefs and the campaign he's running could not be more different and more meaningful.

And I want to see how people handle it.

I want to see what every person who has ever pretended like "Bernie isn't a Democrat" matters does when an oligarch who voted for Bush and was a Republican throughout his administration faces up against a man who has caucused with Democrats his whole life and who has shaped the 2020 Democratic platform more significantly than any other politician.

I want to see how the Tandens of the world react.

I want to see how the Chaits, Kristols, Frums, Brooks of the world react.

I want to see how the DNC reacts.

I want to see who people like Biden, Clinton, Obama and the rest of the establishment support.

I want to see how many Warren fans who claimed that Warren and Sanders are similar (not happening as much any more) support.

    And so on.

This is an unprecedented opportunity to elect someone who represents something so much more than what the Democratic Party has long been. Perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime chance. I want to know who thinks it's OK to support Michael Bloomberg and who doesn't I think we'd learn a lot about a lot of people. Uncover a lot of hypocrisy and empty talking points that have been spewed for years. And that's good.
Bingo. That is why I keep saying that the Democrat convention will be the most important event in this election cycle. This whole moderate vs progressive battle will become full-blown. The DNC didn't just change the rules to benefit a rich donor running for president, but to also stop Bernie and his crew. Everything that has happen within the democrat party since 2016 is leading up to this. Bernie's crowd won't let the moderate cheat them again, and the moderate don't want the progressive to take over the party as the tea party did to the republicans. For a change or the same as it always been. Really it is a battle between the resurrected FDR's new deal type Dems against the republican lite that his party has become

It's a travesty if the lifelong democrats don't change and all of a sudden become raging socialists and support Bernie!!!!

I basically agree with Pete Buttigieg on something.
