Chronz man, not to be insensitive or anything, but have you had a head injury or something in the past 3-4 years?

I thought the movie was good. Kinda just felt like more of the same, which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing. Every once in a while I feel like I have MCU fatigue but they always rope me in and I always enjoy them. More of the same this time.

I kinda cringe that things immediately devolve into "how hot is this female", but I'll bite too. She is, to me, middle of the road Hollywood attractive. I do think she is unquestionably a good actress (and think she was great in Room), but she has only really been able to show it off in two roles so far.

And it's very weird how so many people root for movies with female leads to tank. Fragility.

Sadly I do add how hat a female is in my review of movies, but I also critique men on their looks.

Nothing terribly wrong with it. It just seems to be where the discussion goes to the quickest But hey, this is a sports forum and we're all a bunch of dudes, so it's to be expected.

I almost compared her to Chris Evans in terms of attractiveness (overrated, both of them) and their career paths. But I'm not sure it actually works.

As for what I was referring to. Anti-Feminists (or Menimists or whatever you want to call them) tried a coordinated campaign to tank Captain Marvel's Rotten Tomatoes score and it's box office:

Trolls also tried to torpedo Black Panther, The Last Jedi and Ghostbusters (not that the last one needed torpedoeing).

Seems like they want to torpedo any big budget movies that focus on diversity of female empowerment.
Sounds more like viral marketing to me. Just like how Jussie Smollett tried to get in on that 'hate hoax' action. Call me a cynic or whatever but I can't imagine how else the studios could market these monotonous mediocrities to the public anymore.

The movie was great, I watched it recently. Now I'm waiting for Avengers endgame!

The Last Jedi deserved every bit of it. They went way overboard, and Kathleen Kennedy has only doubled-down since the flops of TLJ and Solo.

And no, I have nothing against the cast or anything of that nature. I don't have any problem with her edict that the new trilogy's main protagonist being female. My issue is how drastically Rey gains her powers, and nothing before, either canon or EU, has ever explained that kind of "learning curve" happening. Other people take issue with Rey for the same reason, or for others that are related to how the character was written (anything not being troll-ish really) but it's thrown back in our faces that "we're against female empowerment."

But her wearing The Force is Female shirts, actively trying to drive a wedge between fans of the franchise........it's just the wrong way about things. Especially since, besides her, there are no other females on the leadership team of Star Wars! Directors? All male. The "keepers of knowledge" for canon and such are Leyland Chee and Pablo Hidalgo, and they were Lucasfilm/Lucasarts employees long before Kennedy came along. But also male. I don't know what her end game is, but I love Star Wars. I've played 90% of the games since the early 90's. I have all of the EU novels, and I have all of the current canon novels. But under her treatment and guidance, something near and dear to me is now meaning less and less.

If you dislike Star Wars or the Last Jedi because of its content, you're doing it right. If you dislike it because of the diversity of the cast, you're doing it wrong. Sounds like you're doing it right.

There are 4 things that had they not been in The Last Jedi, it actually could have been a good movie IMO (the communicator joke in the first scene, Leia's magical space flight, the entire Casino subplot and Rey's cave scene). But I did not like The Force Awakens at all (It was Episode IV again! IMO). I thought Rogue One was very good and Solo was actually decent (better than VII and VIII).

But for some reason any increased diversity in Hollywood angers a small but vocal group of people. They insist that Hollywood is trying to shove diversity down our throats yet are conveniently silent about how Hollywood has tried for the better part of 70 years to shove a lack of diversity down our throats. People lose their mind that The Human Torch was played by a black guy yet don't care at all that John Wayne once played Ghengis freakin' Khan.

they made him look asian though...

I honestly have no care that diversity is being shoved on us, but they should just do it, not tell us about it along the way. Like, quit reminding us that you are creating diversity and just do it

But it's entertainment. And frankly, I would rather watch a hot chick deliver a line than an ugly chick.

For sure, but their are some really good not so attractive actresses that I enjoy their work or ones that donít appeal to me sexually.

I think Maryl Streep was pretty years ago, but she has been my favorite actress for eternity, and it has nothing to do with her looks.

    Kathy Bates
    Frances McDormand
Julianne Moore (though she is aiight sometimes)

I think they are fantastic, and I am not attracted to them
