Ravens relive Marty Mornhinweg of offensive coordinator duties, but gave him the option of accepting a demotion. His replacement is Ravens TE coach Greg Roman (former 49ers and Bills OC).

Nick Foles joins John Elway (1997-98) and Joe Montana (1988-89) as the only two quarterbacks in history, to beat the No. 1 scoring defense in consecutive postseasons.
    First 4 years:
    Brown - 54 GP, 27 GS, 261 catches (63.3%) for 3,561 yds (8.6 AVG), 15 TD
    Landry - 64 GP, 57 GS, 400 catches (70.2%) for 4,038 yds (10.1 AVG), 22 TD

Huh. Wonder why Landry is getting paid so much...

Roman failed with Kaep and Tyrod, but I'm sure he'll totally get it right this time with Jackson.

I might argue that he succeeded in both of those cases. He worked the 49ers offense around the fact that Kaep couldn't read defenses or work a pocket and he made Tyrod look like a capable game manager. Has he ever had a practical QB to work with? Not that Jackson really is.

He had some limited success, but unless the Ravens want to draft a QB in 2 years...

Cardinals hire Vance Joseph as defensive coordinator. He ran a 4-3 base in Miami and a 3-4 in Denver (as head coach), but GM Steve Keim says Joseph will switch the defense back to a 3-4 (like when Todd Bowles was there).

Gary Kubiak backed out of the Broncos offensive coordinator job. He never actually signed or agreed to a deal, in spite of what HC Vic Fangio said. The Fangio era is off to a bad start.

Fangio never said anything like that, and Kubiak didn't back out... He wasn't given it based on difference of philosophy and his desire to bring his ****** assistants back with him. He literally didn't want to modernize his offense.

Patriots DC Brian Flores will be hired as head coach by the Dolphins, because NE coordinators go on to such great success as head coaches. Rams QBC Zac Taylor (who's about 12 years old) will be the Bengals head coach. I'm sure fans in Cincinnati will be happy with anybody who isn't Marvin Lewis. They can't make it official yet, but think of Flores and Taylor as draft picks who' haven't signed yet -- it's just a matter of time.

After leading with his helmet on the victory formation final play for the Saints attempting to injure someone, Bennett assaulted an NFL cameraman.

Wonder how many games he'll be suspended.

Traditionally, common law legal systems had separate definitions for assault and battery. When this distinction is observed, battery refers to the actual bodily contact, whereas assault refers to a credible threat or attempt to cause battery.

In the United States, assault is defined as an attempt to commit a battery. However, the crime of assault can encompass acts in which no battery is intended, but the defendant's act nonetheless creates reasonable fear in others that a battery will occur.

Simple assault can be distinguished without the intent of injury upon another person. The violation of one's personal space or touching in a way the victim deemed inappropriate can be simple assault. In common law states an assault is not committed by merely, for example, swearing at another; without threat of battery, there can be no assault.

Laws on assault vary by state. Since each state has its own criminal laws, there is no universal assault law. Acts classified as assault in one state may be classified as battery, menacing, intimidation, reckless endangerment, etc. in another state. Modern American statutes may define assault as including:

    - an attempt to cause or purposely, knowingly, or recklessly causing bodily injury to another
    - threatening another in a menacing manner.
    - knowingly causing physical contact with another person knowing the other person will regard the contact as offensive or provocative
    - purposely or knowingly causing reasonable apprehension of bodily injury in another
    - any act which is intended to place another in fear of immediate physical contact which will be painful, injurious, insulting, or offensive, coupled with the apparent ability to execute the act.

As soon as he posted it, I knew Bullseyed would argue about the legal definition of assault.
