So Mayfield should be your starter, right?
When are they going to put the stripes back on the helmet?

I am a 100% mayfield supporter and in no way should be be the week 1 starter. It’s Tyrods job to LOSE and Bake’s job to EARN.
The stripes belong to the 53 men who make the wk 1 roster. I love the concept behind it could you imagine what kind of fire it would light under say the Cowboys if you had to earn the Star on your helmet.
I have loved this season of hardknocks. I get that the show is meant to glorify any team that is on there but I believe that Cleveland has the perfect coaching staff right now with Jackson, Haley and Williams. That defense is playing well under Williams. When your motto is “ do something *****”. Or something of that nature you have reached your team. I think the Browns win at least 4 games this year and at most 7 games.
Ya why challenge the logic of a head coach that has won one game over the past 2 years. Troy Aikman was on The Ticket in Dallas this morning and indicated he thought that Hugh Jackosons proclomation from the start that Mayfield would not have the possibility of challenging for the starting role was beyond bizarre. No reason to sit QBs in this day and age unless you are a program that cant get out of the way of itself IMO

Baker is a better QB than Tyrod with out a doubt. Should he be starting most Likly. Does it make sense for a team that is likely to win 3-6 games no matter which of the 2 start to throw there rookie into the fire NO! Give him until the trade deadline to sit. To see real life game flow to see what it is to live the NFL life and at the deadline Trade tyrod for what ever you can get
For him. And hand Bake the keys.
So Browns fans, if I can ask one question: Why?

Mayfield will work.

Hey there. I’ve posted a couple times here but haven’t had much chatter. It’s a fun time being a browns fan living in New Jersey. Me and my pops have taken flac out here since we moved here from Ohio 35 years ago lol. Haven’t been much to say when people bust my chops. People are talking about the browns on sports talk or at the pub. I have folks come over and watch the game with me when I go to the local craft beer sorta joint with all the games going on sundays. Go brownies and hello fellow fans.
Question for folks who regularly reading Cleveland beat reporters and listening to sports talk- what’s the overall feeling about Austin Corbett? I never hear about him living out here but that’s a high pick so I’m curious
The only probelem is by all accounts Baker actually earned it in camp but Hue (I am a moron) Jackson refused to give into logic and insisted on not playing Baker even though he did EARN the starting job from the get go. Good luck in Cinci Hue, your brilliance is unmatched.
The opinions on Corbett seem to be in 'pending status'. He's the one pick that no one knows for sure how he'll turn out. Dorsey did great drafting Mayfield, Ward, Chubb, Callaway, and Avery (Chad Thomas has sucked), but we're still not sure with Corbett.
Corbett is a physical beast - very powerful and has shown flashes in the run-blocking game (not so great with pass-blocking but he's a rookie and can be taught). But he's limited to the inside OL and isn't good as a tackle. Unfortunately for him, our interior is the strongest part of our O-Line with Bitonio, Zeitler, and Tretter, so Corbett hasn't had much of an opportunity to establish himself. For now, he'll continue learning and is currently the next man up if any of our interior 3 get injured.
That's the general perception of him from what I've seen on 92.3 the fan sports radio, as well as various other media outlets.
Believe the hype. The Baker has come.
