If Waino comes up clutch again... we have to go with him. Assuming he's a big game pitcher!

If they NEED to start those last 2 games of the year, i'm not sure who we fire out there for the WC game.
Poncedeleon potentially if we wanted to be sneaky.

Carlos would be ideal but if they were serious about having him be a starter at some point this season he would have been getting stretched out for SP work load. I suppose he could start this week getting prepared for a spot start not sure how long it would take to get him ready to throw 6+ IP.

Looks to me like Flahrety would be our natural "play in" game starter... that would then give Mikolas time to start game 1.

I wonder how much the Russell situation will hurt the cubs.

As poorly as he's hit and the amount of the depth they have, probably zero.

Baez can play short, Murphy second, Bryant third (or outfield), and Bote will backup.

Flaherty would be ideal but neither him or Mikolas will be available if they have to pitch the last 2 games.

I donít hate the idea of Martinez going then giving it to Waino/Gomber/Ponce if he struggles

Yeah he would be nothing but a late game defensive sub for them if he was still around so it wonít effect them too much

As unlikely as this is, if we can sweep the Brewers, we'd pass them in the standings, if we win 2 out of 3, we'd be 1 back of them.

If we can sweep the Brewers, and sweep the Cubs, then the Cubs would need to only go 2-2 in their other four games for us to catch them.

Of course, that's us going 6-0 against the Brewers and Cubs lol
