I would be overjoyed if a GQP congressperson were a "hypocrite" at this level. That kind of improvement would be great to see.

All those red carpet pictures were taken like five feet from the street, and outside the building. The Met is a pretty famous building, it's not hard to find pictures of where they're at.

What's hilarious is that she knew attending went against everything she "stands for" but she just really wanted to go so she wrote tax the rich on her dress and her minions ate it up.

Let me summarize: People who hate everything AOC does hated something AOC did.

Why not just focus on taxing the rich or do you have a problem with that?

This assertion requires a caveat: If a GOP congresswoman did attended this event in this attire, there couldn’t be a charge of hypocrisy.

Not to mention, no we wouldn’t. Some lady wore a Trump 2020 dress to the Grammy’s red carpet and none of us Liberals on here cared.

Just shows how petty political discourse, for some, is getting.

They already pay a higher percentage of their income than middle and lower classes do. The top 10% of taxpayers pay the vast majority of the revenues to the government. They also create the vast majority of jobs in this country (sorry, that may be considered an attempt to take the thread off-topic).

Those are different things. Yes the top 10% pay the majority of the revenues to the government, because they have the vast majority of the money. No, they do not pay a larger % of their income than the middle class (particularly when you factor in consumption taxes like sales tax). They in general pay a lower % of their income.

The reason they don't pay a higher percentage is because congress refuses to close all of the loopholes. Contact Pelosi, Schumer and the other Democratic leaders with your complaints. They could close them tomorrow.
