Imagine this were any other person (even you). Imagine someone tweeted death threats about you. Imagine that hundreds (and thousands) of people including those tweeting death threats assaulted your work complex and entered the complex and were looking for you to kill you. Imagine having to be escorted out by police and barricaded in a room for safety.

For any other person on earth, in any other situation, everyone would agree it would be reasonable to say that person was in danger and it is a completely normal response to feel like you’re in danger.

Nobody would say “sure hundreds broke in to your work with some trying to find and kill you, but did any even make it down your hallway? Sounds like you overreacted, it was nothing to worry about, you were never in danger”.

Go up to a kid after a school shooting and tell them they were never in danger because the armed gunman didn’t enter their classroom, see if they agree.

I imagine all politicians both Republican and Democrat receive death threats. still not fair, but lets not single out AOC as someone this is happening too and not others.

for your comparison. if some nutjob was in a school shooting people and someone at another school down the road was terrified, are they really in danger.

I'm pretty sure I have said AOC was justified in feeling afraid. she heard what was going on and was scared. but whether she was in any real danger should have to supported with evidence.

the larger crew wasn't specifically looking to harm her, but if some were doing what you said in your example, no. not if I have police to protect me like the Capitol officer there to protect AOC, that she went on to think was also a threat to her. it's bad enough what she said about the person there to help her.
