Yeah. I can't tell you how often news outlets call me up for hot tips for them to pursue. They all have my number in their little gadgets.

AOC is the one keeping herself in the news. she can't shut up, and has to speak her mind on almost anything. she is the one on twitter and instagram with something to say.

What is one person't housing is another person's investment.

It's like opening up a restaurant and selling a steak dinner for $5 just because people are hungry. The restaurant owner isn't there to cure hunger, he's there to make money.

As far as answers……like you, I do not have any. Public housing would seem to be an answer but that doesn't really work out too well. They gey trashed, lack of upkeep, etc all leads to crime infested neighborhoods.

This leads to another interesting conumdrum…

Why does public housing always get run down?? It doesn't cost anything for tenants to keep the place clean, pick up trash etc. It doesn't cost anything for tenants to care for their apartments in an orderly fashion. So why do they all look so dumpy. Can't be a matter of cost.
You act like capping how much you can charge for something in the interest of the greater good is restricted solely to rent. If you are against rent control, I assume you're against price gouging in the event of a natural disaster? After all, selling a bottle of water for $20 to people trapped in a flooded area represents an investment to its owner. So if you can cap the amount someone can charge for food and water to people who need it in an emergency, you should be able to cap rent.

We also do this with medication, or do you think that life saving medication should be free to cost $150,000 a pill?

As far as answers, of course you don't have any. You never do. You're only contribution is shaking your fist at the young'uns running in your yard from your front porch.

You're gettin a little silly her but consistency has always been your forte. A lot of your posts point out the absurd.

Let's get rid of all the silly points and answer this……

If you are OK with rent control on a national basis are you ok with a cap in investment earnings? Yes or no?

They don’t all. The ones that do probably do for the same reasons non public housing sometimes look trashy- the owner doesn’t care, has a mental or physical disability that makes things very hard for them, maybe drug issues. Personally I think we should kill them. Maybe a warning if they leave things on the lawn once but then murder

No one will answer the question………

If you are OK with rent control are you OK with a cap on your investment growth?

None of you hypocrites will answer this.

Not surprising. Just ignore it foe a couple of posts and it will go away. Common strategy here.

I've found people often ignore definitions or pretend their own definition for a word is what really matters.

Absolute cap on investment growth? No I'm not for that. But I'm also not for an absolute cap on rent either, I'm for rent control.

Now that I answered your question, answer mine:

If you're not OK with rent control nationally because it means capping investment income, are you also against price gouging because it also limits investment income?

I am against rent control or any type of cap on investment income. Rent control leads to substandard housing and all kinds of shenanigans on both sides…renter and owner. A cap on investment income will lead to stagnated investments. Not a good thing.

Price gouging…of course it is wrong. Any ethical person would find it top be wrong. Most people would consider "price gouging" as tripling the price of food and water after a disaster. I don't think anyone with any sense would go along with this (though some always seem to pop up.)

Now I know where this is going with this…what about pharmaceutical companies charging seemingly outrageous prices. Frankly, I don't know if that is price gouging or not. The is just the way our system is set up to allow for proper recovery of R&D. Right or wrong?? Who really knows. Is it fair? Again, I don't really know.

Price gouging in its simplest terms would mean forcing someone to pay more for something than it is worth. $15 - $20 minimum wage fits this description, as does the end result of most labor negotiations.

So to be clear you are against capping someone's investment income potential in regards to price gouging but not in regards to rent control?
