okay so here is your opportunity. since you said "AOC says and does a lot of naïve and stupid things" what stupid things (plural) do you think she has said/did.

I think her comparing Climate Change to WWII was stupid. I think her calling waitressing indentured servitude was dumb. I think any time she responds to Trump's stupidity, it's dumb as it serves no purpose.

Rent control does not work. It creates substandard housing ==> slums. You cannot tell someone what they can/cannot do with their possessions.

There are huge problems with affordable housing…no question about that. But the answers lie elsewhere. Not rent control.

Usually people become more savvy and intelligent with experience and over time…she's just the opposite. Dumber by the day.

If you are willing to agree on rent control are you willing to put a cap on earnings on investments. After all, rental property represents an investment to its owner. So if you can cap rent increases at say 5%, should youy be able to cap stock increases at 5% or capital gains etc.

What is one person't housing is another person's investment.

It's like opening up a restaurant and selling a steak dinner for $5 just because people are hungry. The restaurant owner isn't there to cure hunger, he's there to make money.

As far as answers……like you, I do not have any. Public housing would seem to be an answer but that doesn't really work out too well. They gey trashed, lack of upkeep, etc all leads to crime infested neighborhoods.

This leads to another interesting conumdrum…

Why does public housing always get run down?? It doesn't cost anything for tenants to keep the place clean, pick up trash etc. It doesn't cost anything for tenants to care for their apartments in an orderly fashion. So why do they all look so dumpy. Can't be a matter of cost.
