Does anyone think it's possible to go 100% renewable and completely stop using fossil fuels without some significant breakthroughs?

How many people support a government housing guarantee? How many people support a jobs guarantee? How many people support government aid for people unwilling to work? How many people support giving up their gas powered vehicles in just 10 years? How many people support a tax increase?

    I want a cleaner environment. I don't want her ****** plan.

I used to be a big democrat during the Bush years and it really pissed me off when republicans accused me of being a socialist/commie. Here's the thing though - SHE'S ACTUALLY A SOCIALIST PROMOTING SOCIALIST POLICIES.

It's not an insult, it's what she is, it's what her plan is.

It's bizarre world. Self proclaimed socialists run around calling people right of them fascists but if you call them a socialist they get mad at you.

I mean obviously republicans had to vote/fox news played a huge part for him and created tons of followers like that so ya I guess it is. Or do you mean CNN and the hate aimed at him? Both definitely played a part, I think I get what you meant now.

Again the establishment Dems and republican party/Trumpers are largely all the same thing/game. The left movement is a bit different.

AOC often gets the Bernie Sanders socialist/communist/radical left treatment type thing from both groups at times (although more insider than Bernie I would say you get the idea of said rhetoric).

Not sure, would be interesting to know though.

As I keep saying I can agree that some parts I also am not for and think the plan as a whole needs work to be reasonable/pass but there is tons in there overall that deserves consideration instead of the same old BS dems bad. I like that you separated some of this out and it also depends on how far we advance (I have no problem giving up my gas powered vehicle personally if better/affordable option is there, don't think it should be forced unless everyone can do so easily/affordably though at same time. Again there are tons of issues that can be more in depth).

As a whole it had that much support though despite it's flaws. That is rare for any policy let alone one that has such a great focus on the environment. Fix this plan to better fit what can/should happen instead of scrapping it for the ridiculous rhetoric mentioned throughout.

It doesn't have support and you're not proving it by pointing to some silly poll that shows americans want a cleaner environment. The support is so bad that the republicans (who didn't propose it) are the ones that want the vote because they want the democrats to have to admit that it sucks.

It has been used as a fear mongering technique to attack left ideas in America that some have adopted to try and change the script so we can agree on that. On a normal political compass Bernie is not a socialist but because American politics hangs out in the upper right hand corner anything that even gets to the left of the axis is considered/labeled socialist.

    https://www.politicalcompass.org/ima...maries2016.png
Political map of primaries, Hillary is right/authoritarian just like Republicans. Establishment on both sides largely play the same game.
    https://theintercept.com/2019/02/26/...anders-warren/

The issue is if you are left on the scale at all you get labeled as socialist. Some choose not to run from the label and instead try and show how popular "socialist" ideas are compared to "capitalist" ones (essentially just left or right on the political compass). Bernie was closer to true center than Hillary (especially with the identity politics stuff not only cause she is further right too). If by socialist you just mean left then sure, if you mean she is actually a raging socialist then I think you are a bit off. Like we have politicians for socialist programs like police etc. and this would add more/others like environmental issues sure but it wouldn't be full out socialism drastically changing how the country operates in full/every way either.

I showed the support the ideas had, Republicans not liking it is the added partisan measure that always happens in the game against dems and the dems being iffy is likely the establishment (playing same games).

here this covers more and has the jobs guarantee aspect.

pay for it by raising taxes even

There is tons of support for a lot of the policies within as already shown.

Among independents, who now make up more than a third of the electorate, 41% said they would be less likely to vote for a Green New Deal candidate, versus 35% that said they'd be more likely.

Found this when looking for a poll and think it is probably a good example of what I mean. Independents are almost split on this with a slight lean towards no while it is more partisan on each side type thing. This is a huge plan that has a lot of good things within with tons of support that has added too much extra to kind of split people on it as whole. Taking things to the extremes/these games of horrible socialism isn't really adding anything to the discussion it's just the same lame rhetoric we always see and this is a pretty rare plan/divide over it.

It doesn't have to be a lame partisan game of all great/horrible that's just the dumb game fox news/cnn play. There is tons of good things and we should probably complain about THE BAD STUFF not lump everything together call it bad her a socialist and so on.

I apologize that those were the first places that covered the polls/data, your incredible 0 evidence of any substance on any talking point is surely too tough to match though. If you had an issue you could call it out but considering all your other rhetoric I am guessing this is the same old game
