Ben goes down to career ending injury, Bell holds out and plays 6 games to be free from franchise tag as UFA, Brown misses 1k yards?

Would be good to see some changes from the usual in the AFC.
    First 4 years:
    Brown - 54 GP, 27 GS, 261 catches (63.3%) for 3,561 yds (8.6 AVG), 15 TD
    Landry - 64 GP, 57 GS, 400 catches (70.2%) for 4,038 yds (10.1 AVG), 22 TD

Huh. Wonder why Landry is getting paid so much...

"Hater" is a term used by weak minded people in the face of legitimate criticism.

Revis's last play is one in which he gave up and jogged toward the ball-carrier to lose the game for his team.

In the same game he batted the ball into Mariota's hands for a touchdown. Surely an embarrassing end.

Are you saying you hope a guy has a career ending injury?

I didn't know Darrelle Revis had his own personal logo.

Nobody will remember it. The last couple of years where he was washed up won't tarnish an otherwise great, HOF worthy career. Hardly embarrassing.

Isn't Alfred Morris still available? Even Darkwa was better for the Giants last year.

    Seems odd.

Honestly if Ben goes down or the Steelers somehow start out 2-4 or something, Bell would be an idiot to not shut himself down.

Fun fact for comparison: in 2011 the Vikings signed AP to a 7 year/96M (13.7M/season) deal when the salary cap was 120M (he was ~11.4% of their cap). The Steelers high offer for Bell was 5 years/70M (14M/season) with a cap of 177M (~8% of the total cap).

The more I look at it the easier it is to side with Bell in the dispute, especially if it's true they only offered 10M guaranteed.

It was $10mil with locking guarantees for the next 2 years taking to guarantees up to $35mil.

How'd that 2011 Vikings contract work out?

Made the playoffs twice, lost the wildcard twice. Won the division once. AP basically didn't play in 2014 and 2016 and didn't see the end of the deal.

So the Steelers should sign Bell to a bad deal because the Vikings signed AP to a bad deal?

And that's not even counting the devaluation of the RB position since 2011 (in part because of AP's deal).

No team *should* sign an elite every down back because of how risky it is. I'm simply pointing out that back when the league had a comparable highly paid RB he was paid a higher percentage. Honestly it worked out okay for them considering he won an MVP and helped drag a Ponder lead/Frasier coached team to a WC appearance. He had an injury and nobody could've predicted he'd be a dirt bag and abuse his kid.

It's a hot take to say (since we're supposed to treat AP like he'd a GOAT for whatever reason), but Bell does so much more than AP. He's honestly great at all phases of the game whereas AP was one of the worst blockers and offered very little to the passing game. The only thing Bell doesn't have on the resume is carrying a bad team because he's never had one.
