I think you guys are selling Smart short. His shooting percentages are definitely ugly, but the guy brings a lot to his team. He averaged 30 minutes a game on a team that just went to the conference finals. He's like a young Tony Allen. Plus he's only 24, no reason he can't still improve.

We don't need Smart and he won't help us get to the playoffs. Don't overpay for him.

It sounds like (to me) this came out of Smart'vs camp/side to draw interest in him and to get the Celts moving to get a deal done with them.

This is crazy... we need all the help we can get. So... the kings dont need a lockdown defender that can defend 3 positions who would be coming from a top notch organization? He brings an intensity and def aggressiveness that we need. To say he is not needed is crazy... Jason Thompson was our starting pf for how long... goes to golden state and sees no minutes. We need to aquire talent, not rely on semi role players to carry us.

I agree, Smart would be a contributor to any team in the league. He would definitely help the Kings. Also, there's still time for his shot to improve.

    It's over.

League source: The #Kings have no interest in #Celtics’ RFA Marcus Smart.

We just have sooo many SGs, unless we trade one, two, three, or even four of them, why would we put money in THAT position? We have the big glaring hole at SF to look at... but then again the Kings are back to Bagley could be a SF; if he can start knocking down the 3s he was air balling while being open in summer league. Owwwhhhh.. godness.

I'm not a fan of SGs that can't shoot... creates a huge need for stretch 4 and shooters at PG and SF.

Do you want to get little buckets back (Marcus Thornton)?

Smart can guard the three. Doesn't really matter if he's at the 1, 2, or 3 on offense. We can play a three guard lineup with Smart checking SF on D.

I wouldn't ever count on a undersized SG in the Western Conference checking any SFs besides the normal switching, but never as a full time duty. I know they were talking about that on 1140, but i disagree. Is that the plan?
if not having a plan is planning to fail, I'ld rather fail with no plan then spen money on that "gamble".
