there are also player options that will not be listed, the list is better.

You have Kawhi and Love, and Klay, and Kemba, and Tobias

I think first things first lets see who we draft.

A large short term deal to push cap space, ala Redick and Caldwell-Pope. Push to Giannis in 2021!

I don't think any of those players would be worth it besides Kawhi and he may get traded before. This is the problem with putting your hope in the free agency basket. Much easier when you can use free agency and trades to supplement your roster rather than look to bring someone in to be part of the foundation.

The most frustrating thing about professional sports teams is when they finally cycle through bad contracts and get cap space, so often they just use that financial flexibility to bury themselves for another 4 years. If the Knicks strike out on Kyrie or Kawhi, etc. Don't max a fake superstar. Just roll the cap space over.

This is exactly how I feel. I don't want to max anyone else but Kyrie and Kawhi.

I agree with this. Just because we have money doesn't mean we need to spend it. Haven't we learned anything about this as fans by now?? Look at some of the horrible spending we have done in the past because we had money and no big name player out there.

Maybe get a core rotation guy but maintain flexibility for a star. See what type of trades are out there to use the cap to absorb a guy instead of signing him. Look at big one year deals. Cap space is good - but you don't have to use it all just because you have it.

I wouldn't even think of giving a guy who has been injured his whole career a super max. Kyrie has missed an insane amount of games, and the injuries are only getting worse.

Kp is due for a new deal we have to sign someone in that year to take advantage of his low cap hold
